  1. I need room in my Ned/Shaky box. I took out some of the jig heads that I haven’t used lately. There is an assortment of sizes and types, Ned, banana, ball, football, wobble head, etc. I will sell the lot for $15 shipping included.
  2. I fished the dam area today. I tried spinnerbait, jig, ned and shaky. It was slow. I had 10 bites and caught 9 bass. 4 of them were nice keepers. All on shaky. The water clarity was good. I could see the bottom in 10’. The surface temperature was from 55° to 59°. There was no pattern. Some were near points and some were in coves. They were 4 to 15’ deep.
  3. University of Missouri Extension Center in your county of residence is where I have always gone.
  4. I could only find a few places that didn’t already have 1-3 boats on them. I was up to third in line where I wanted to fish after I got away from the snaggers.
  5. What are you using? What are you having to pay for them? I have a bunch of supplies and will never go through all of them.
  6. Bobby I have tried braid, braid/fluorocarbon and monofilament leaders and straight fluorocarbon. I use Seaguar red label and love it in 12 and 15# test. It’s not bad in 8 and 10# test but I gave up on it in 6#. It would be fine for a while then all of a sudden it would be useless and break like sewing thread. That chapped me as I have 5 setups spooled for Ned. Upon the advice of a good fisherman I bought Yozuri hybrid in 6# and have not looked back. I use it on Shimano spinning reels in sizes 1000 and 2000 and Shimano X70 bait casting without issue. It has been on since late last summer and doesn’t need to be changed yet.
  7. But it must be July the 4th. I went to Cape Fair this morning. Flat Creek access was over crowded. All three Cape Fair lots were full. Both Bridge Port lots were full. Boats were everywhere. Weird overloaded boats (must still be snagging season). I ran all the way to Carrs looking for a spot without a boat. I hit a flat with a spinnerbait and caught a couple. Before I knew it 5 of those weird overloaded boats were all around me. I had to go all the way to Bearden to find a bank where I could use a shaky. I had 3 on the first 4 casts on a California craw. There were only 8 other boats in Bearden. I hung around there until I got 17 then looked for a bank without boats or rollers. I couldn’t find one so wound up at the ramp with only 4 hours of fishing.
  8. What I had in mind requires less wind than there is going to be so I’m going to Cape Fair and throw a spinnerbait.
  9. Sounds like the government’s finest hour.
  10. There is an area around marinas where the public is not permitted to fish. The MO Water Patrol should be able to provide clarification for you.
  11. It’s none of his business whether or not you release fish. If he caught one like that he’d probably head somewhere to shoe it off and brag.
  12. Good to know. Did you motor up or drive around to CC?
  13. I only allow Scott Robinson at Marine Repair Center to do mine. He’s been doing it since he was a kid working for his dad.
  14. Sorry I didn't make it. Maybe Friday.
  15. I hope to fish the north end today. I was going yesterday but the 15-25 mph wind changed my mind. I will be looking for green fish but won’t turn down a few brown ones. I’ll be launching at the Stockton public use.
  16. It looked like coffee with cream. I headed down looking for something clearer. Woolly was a little better. We caught 11 there. Moving down Piney was clearer so we went in. It was white capping in the back. We caught 20 in Piney. We only had 4 keeper. It this wind lets up I’m going to Stockton where it is bound to be clearer.
  17. I was referring to an event completed not a future one.
  18. Mav seems to have the most logical answer or maybe some event on Grand.
  19. Fred U. used to have an 18’ boat with a suped up 300 that according to Dennis would run 105 when properly tuned. He could only run it at daylight on a calm morning.
  20. That sure is a lot of boats. Were the on transports or being individually towed?

  22. That’s actually pretty close to spot on. In general cows start grazing well before dawn. If they have sufficient forage they should be full and lie down by 9:00am to start the ruminating process. If they are still grazing they haven’t had enough to eat. The grazing process typically repeats itself in the early afternoon.
  23. I haven’t noticed a lot of difference when day fishing but I have done a lot better night fishing for bass when there is a waxing moon. The waxing gibbous has always been the very best. However, a lot of the time we experience turbulent weather around the full moon like right now. I was planning on an evening/night trip to the north end of Stockton today but the weather has about changed my mind.
  24. Nope you can get a white turkey anytime you want and it will already be cleaned.
  25. Ok thanks. I guess I won’t be going up river and throwing my spinnerbaits. The moon might draw me to Stockton.
