I have the Humminbird Mega Live but the weather has not cooperated with me very well. I like gadgets, thing of a ma bobs and do dads. I don’t know if it will help me or not but the thrill of trying something new and different is worth the time and money to me. What I am looking forward to doing is finding suspended bass and being able to see how they react to baits and presentations.
Those changes do not surprise me at all. You guys evidently have not spent enough time in that part of the world. Things are a bit different down there.
Had I know that I known that I would have made you an offer on yours. However, I decided to go ahead and order one. Since it only had to come 20 miles it go here in 2 days.
They missed it again here. How about where you live? We were supposed to be in for storms and heavy rain. We got the continuing wind and a few showers. Our big deal is the temp drop. We’ve dropped 25° in 2 hours. At 05:30 it was 59° and by 07:30 it had dropped to 34° with the wind now howling from the north instead of the south.
Does are rarely harvested. If we ever get over populated that may change. He doesn''t gut them. He skins and debones them. Minimal moving of the guts to get to the loins. The antlers if wanted get cut off with or without the head. If the head is saved it will be for a European mount. Everything else gets left for the scavengers.
I hope you have good luck. I tried wine making several years ago. I bought everything from a hobby wine maker in Nixa. The first gallon was some of the best I have ever had. The second gallon would give you so much heart burn that no one could do more than half a glass. There hasn't been a third gallon.
That is an acquired taste. There is a winery just north of Walnut Grove that specializes in Meade. We stop by there occasionally and pick some up. I still prefer fruit over honey.
You might stay at Lilly’s Landing. He owns and operates this site.
Most of the good fishing that I have ever heard about is after midnight from the bank.
I’m not familiar with that trolling motor but that should have no effect on a 360 as it will be linked to the Humminbird. Is the 360 all you will have on the unit?
We have Bland Spring running through the farm and can access it in many places if he wants water but I don’t know if that is a concern. It never was for me when I hunted. I’m thinking about them being able to get out of the wind or out of the weather in a shed if necessary.
We’ve tried lots of ways to hang and dress deer. Last fall I watched my grandson and his wife dress a couple of bucks. It was an ordeal with the tow cable of my Kawasaki mule over a tree limb hooked to the deer. I’m planning to buy him something for his birthday and this has caught my eye. I can be attached to the mule or a pickup truck. It is supposed to be rated at 400#. Have any of you used anything like this?

I’ve only had one experience with bees. When we were renting the farm house some got in around the mortar and built a hive between the garage ceiling and one of the bedroom floors. I contacted some bee keepers and no one wanted them. Through the Green County Bee keepers assn. I found a guy who would come take them for $250. It was either that or kill them so I hired him. He estimated that there were 25-30,000 in that group.
When I switched from Lowrance I bought Solix because of the touch screen. Scott at Marine Repair Center tried to get me to go Helix. He said Helix was more simple and the work horse of the brand. He also said that there were some unexplained gremlins that pop up with Solix. He was right. One of my units has been back to the factory 2 times for warranty work one of which was a touch screen malfunctioning. I had a “ gps fix lost” alarm that would come and go for the last couple of years. No one could fix or even understand it. It seems to have been fixed with the latest update that I did for the Mega Live.
For what its worth, I have been watching Mega Live videos and all of them seem to be with the Helix. Plus the Helix is probably $500 cheaper.
There is a new unit out called the Apex but I don’t know anything about it.
We see armadillos and ground hogs we shoot them because of the damage that they do. We normally leave them for the eagles, buzzards and yotes but if you guys want to eat them, I’ll pm you and let you know where you can come and pick them up.
