fishinwrench Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 You would not be allowed to make anything like Blazing Saddles or All in the Family today. There's lots of talent out there but unfortunately the world wants to watch crap. Yup. Too many lines that can't be crossed, and overly heavy penalties for fouls. Bill Cosby was able to pull off clean/PC humor but nobody since him has been able to do it IMO.
DaddyO Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Yup. Too many lines that can't be crossed, and overly heavy penalties for fouls. Bill Cosby was able to pull off clean/PC humor but nobody since him has been able to do it IMO. That's just because nobody else wants to work as hard at it as Bill Cosby did. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
ollie Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Geez, what a crock of BS. I have known some true hillbillies in my time, but that was many years ago. Something for ratings is what it looks like to me. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 You have to remember that there are lots of people on both coast that have a whole different idea of what life is here then what is real. Rural Missouri has been full of "survivors" as long as I can remember. It's always hard to see the forest for the trees. Some of my family goes back to 1814 and 1816 so it all looks normal to me. I always remember from the late 60's when an acquaintance of my dad had an English born wife, she told my folks that here biggest disappointment with Oklahoma was that it was hard know who were Indians. She had expected them to dress like in the films and ride horses. As far as Arkansas stereotypes, weeel I'll keep quiet. Seems like I might have heard an Arkansas joke or two if I remember right? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Bill Cosby was able to pull off clean/PC humor but nobody since him has been able to do it IMO. Na they could do it still they just choose not to as it would show the hypocritical bias of Hollywierd to much. Look what happened with Phil Robertson and the support he got. I know they could make them still and should. I mean come on who didn't die laughing with the old lady bringing the sheriff the pie secretly or When Archie found out who his new neighbors were. Man now I need to go find where I stashed that episode and watch it again. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
ness Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 But it's not what your thinking....lol http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/discovery-going-inside-clash-ozarks-679138 Wow -- the same people who brought us Naked and Afraid, Amish Mafia and Moonshiners 'documentaries'? John
Greasy B Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 On this day of broadcast banality, insipid humor and cesspool comedy our world is less tolerable now that weve lost Sid Caesar. Sid was a true funny man; his writers defined my generations comedy. I'll appreciate Bill Cosby and the few other comics who rely being clever a little more. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Terrierman Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Come on you guys, "Hillbilly Blood" is real. The reality of reality shows is they are cheap to make and enough people watch them to make them profitable. When that stops, something else will come along. But not until.
Brian Jones Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Wonder if crowbar will show his technique for filleting trophy smallmouths?
LittleRedFisherman Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 Here's another clip they put up I saw posted on Facebook...lol.. http://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/clash-of-the-ozarks/videos/poachers-on-the-land.htm There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
