Johnsfolly Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Tonight was taco night. I used ground venison seasoned with garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, smoke paprika, galena spices, and a little bottled taco sauce. Served it with spanish rice and black bean refried beans. BH - the venison was donated and processed from a commercial processor. I went with tacos since I have no idea what to expect with the fat content or taste. MOPanfisher Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 My wife LOVES potstickers, and they are dang good I think too. Awesome to see everyone involved. Mitch f 1
Johnsfolly Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Mitch Now that is a great family night event! My family loves dumplings and potstickers. We have tried to make them at home, but they just haven't been as good as we used to be able to buy. Our home versions were just lacking in the dough and filling. And we don't have a good recipe for the dipping sauce. So other than those deficiencies we're good. So we would continue to buy them. Now that is becoming disappointing as most places around us no longer make them by hand and have been using prepackaged ones. Those are fine, but the dough is more like wonton wraps and not the toothsome dough of a hand made potsticker. Would you be willing to rent out the in-laws and family for satellite pot sticker nights? We would be interested. Mitch f 1

My wife's in a Chinese mother's club in STL, they all get together once in a while and do a massive order of Shrimp type dumplings from Chicago, the Company from Chicago drives down with a refrigerated truck once a month and delivers to a parking lot in Chesterfield. It looks like a drug deal!? MOPanfisher, tho1mas and Johnsfolly 3 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Johnsfolly Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Mitch A man has to try and make the ask. I won't try to find out when the dumpling drop goes down. Too tempted to get in on that action. Seriously that is pretty cool that your wife's group is involved in that type of business. Seems like lots of entrepreneurs in the Mitchf household. Mitch f 1

My lovely wife and I are big time dumpling fans. One time in London we even ate at a place called The Dumpling. Steamed or fried - no matter. When she saw the pictures, she looked at me and said, "When are we leaving?" ness, BilletHead and Mitch f 3
