Flat top char of yellow squash, corn and marinated shrimp. Good stuff.

Put a Tri Tip in the Sous Vide this morning. Set for 6 hours at 131. I'm thinking sear on the grill, rest and serve with a tomato salad and grit cakes from this mornings leftover cheesy grits. Don't have any good bread or wine and gotta use what we have. No grocery trips as we're thinking we need to quarantine as the wife started showing symptoms Friday and looking to get tested tomorrow.

Have not looked at this in awhile, wife has been home for 6 months and has been doing all the cooking. I agree with RPS’s wine recommendations. Find a wine you like, remember the variety, and where it’s grown. Try others of same variety, from the same area. Learned that from my Somelier ex GF. Married a friend of hers after we broke up. Wife and I still see her socially.

I hope she’s ok.

By way of example, take Sauvigon Blanc, made from a grape from Loire, France. Once you try one from Marlborough, New Zealand, you will realize the rest of the world does not make it correctly. Kim Crawford, Villa Maria, Noblio, Cloudy Bay, Oyster Bay and Starborough are all commonly available (even at Sam's). For Chenin Blanc,  go South African. Vouvray (same grape as Chenin Blanc), stick to Loire. The US has become the best at cab sav, but the prices will kill you. The Aussies do it nearly as well at 1/3 the cost. As for Shiraz and Granache, Aussie all the way. IMHO.

I won't touch Chardonnay, the variations are all over the map. Crisp? Vanilla? Buttery? Find your preference and read up.

In the end, there are only two kinds of wine. The ones you like and the ones you do not. 😃

I like the dinner plans but do not like the rest. I hope the test is negative.
