Made a  small chocolate cake from scratch last night. Vanilla buttercream frosting too. If there's any left this morning , I'll share a pic of my dessert.  I didn't look yet today. It was a gorgeous cake, no cracks, baked perfectly!

I'm not much of a dessert maker so whenever the stuff turns out really good Im relieved

The wild turkey form Monday morning spent the day on the stove. The legs, thighs, wings and the oysters from the back were browned then spent a good four hours with herbs, spices and roasted garlic braising on a simmer. While broth was still on a simmered the meat was pulled and deboned then returned to the pot. Carrots, celery and caramelized onions put in. As carrots softened the fresh baby spinach then was added. A few more minutes it was bowled up. A good tasting meal for a unseasonable day.  Bonus happy wife having this waiting after a days work,

Looks and sounds great for a snowy day.

Caught a couple of keeper flounder on Sat. Seasoned filets with garlic powder and ground pepper. Lightly floured then pan fried in olive oil and a little butter. Steamed broccoli rabe and brown rice mix. Sauce for fish was butter, pinot grigio, shallots and fresh dill.

I was in Charleston last week and we had flounder everyday for either lunch or dinner.  I had to get out of town or I would weigh 300 pounds....

Except those days when you were at Bojangles or Zaxby's ;)

I've seen a Zaxby's somewhere around here, so I looked it up. I guess we've got one pretty close -- up by the NASCAR track. Too far away for curbside, but we'll have to give it a try when things settle down.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we did fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy the other night. Can you tell what my favorite part is?? :D

Man I always go back and forth on corn or gravy for the mashed taters. I didn’t know we were allowed to do both!!

Leftovers tonight. Leftover cannelloni stuffing. Leftover red sauce. Roll ups.

Life is good.
