MOPanfisher Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Well I actually took some pics but my phone has swallowed it butt so I can't resize them to post. ANYWAY, tonight was some boneless pork chops cut from a whole pork loin, some real green beans out of the freezer and some au gratin taters. Now for the downer, allergies are attacking me and allergy meds completely kill my taste buds. Every one said it was all good but other than a slight vinegar hit from the beans it all tastes the same. Sure looked tasty though. rps 1

joeD Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Gavin, all that prep for paella and you garnish with curly parsley, not Italian flat leaf!? I'm afraid that you might lose points on that one brother. However, you do gain points for drugging and rocking, albeit in the past. Gavin and Flysmallie 2
Gavin Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 No worries. Paella was great, even with curly parsley.(other green leafys did not look fresh). Sazerac for desert. Goodnight.

rps Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Last night was as good as I had hoped when I threw things together. Tonight I took some boneless and skinless chicken thighs and cut them in half. I seasoned them and dusted them with flour. They were dipped in a thinned egg wash and dredged in panko. I will pan fry them. In the mean time, I prepped a sesame saffron rice made with chicken broth. I will also pan roast green beans in a lemon olive oil and finish them with balsamic vinegar.. If I remember, I will take pictures and append them to this post. Who of you, if any, will try to fish the 1 fish OAF tournament out of Eagle Rock this weekend? MOPanfisher Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Chicken thighs are the best part of a chicken. rps and ness 2
joeD Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Panko pan sautéed chicken: good Sesame saffron rice: good Pan roast green beans with lemon oil and balsamic vinegar: good All three together on the same plate: not so good Unharmonious. Too many competing flavors that don't make sense together. Not every ingredient needs to be "cheffed " to death. One of the reasons martinis and Manhattans are so perfect.
