Flysmallie Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I once tried to deep fry a Jimmy Johns sandwich. It sucked. BilletHead 1
BilletHead Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 You don't know until you try Ronnie but I will take your word on the deep fried sammich . Flysmallie Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Now some deep fried sandwiches are a good thing. PB&J, sausage biscuit, cheeseburger. All good stuff. I think it was the amount of lettuce on the JJ that sent it south. Me and a couple of guys used to get together frequently on Friday, that's why we called it Fried Friday. Drink some beer, fry some food. I think the only things that ever truly sucked were ham hocks and that JJ lettuce bomb. My favorite thing we fried was a sandwich. Well sort of a sandwich. Fried bacon on a krispy kreme bun dunked in a thin funnel cake batter and then fried. Of course you have to cover that with powdered sugar as soon as it comes out. Still have no idea why I'm overweight though. BilletHead 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I love grilled romaine. Drizzle lightly with olive oil, salt and pepper to taste and grill it lightly on both sides. Then drizzle with blue cheese dressing. I'm making myself hungry. rps, MOPanfisher, Johnsfolly and 3 others 6

ness Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 Monte Cristo is a pretty good fried sandwich. Basically a ham and Swiss dipped in egg and cooked like French toast. Good with jelly on it. I don't doubt a fried sub sucked. Johnsfolly 1 John
rps Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 One of the common food points across nearly all cuisines is some form of fried bread, often stuffed. Think about it - pasties, won tons, dumplings, pierogies, ravioli, Indian fry bread, Naan, French toast, tortillas, johnny cakes, and on and on. Now I have given myself an idea for the weekend. It has been a while since I did bacon mushroom ravioli. Going off to plan now. ness and Johnsfolly 2
Mitch f Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Wasn't it Elvis who fried peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwiches? Glory Glory.......Halleluuuuuuuuuuuuujah podum, tho1mas and ness 3 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Johnsfolly Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Talk of all these fried stuffed breads, ravioli, and sammiches has got my blood sugar and cholesterol levels rising. I've got to go to my healthy place! Mitch f, ness and rps 3
Johnsfolly Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Mitch - Elvis didn't get a body like that without downing a lot of fried PB, bacon, and banana sandwiches. Been working at trying to stop looking like a blond version of the fat Elvis. Mitch f 1
