Pizza and egg drop soup looks good. Contemplating a smoker run this weekend. All they on sale vac packed stuff from last fall. A couple pork shoulders, bunch of ribs, brisket, some whole chickens. Has anyone ever played around with honey powder in a rub or as a finish? Talked to a fellow who is a KCBS BBQ judge last weekend who recommended. Think he used as a finish, but don't remember other than its granular so it sticks and does not run off.

Had to look that up. Never heard of honey powder.

I have just begun to hear about honey powder, but have never used it. I would think that it would be a better finish than in a rub, since I believe that it's likely to easily burn. Love to hear more about it though.

Whaaaaa? Never heard of it but it sounds interesting. Might have to try it but I've never had a problem just using honey. Yes there is going to be some runoff but that happens with all rubs. It stays on better than you think.
