Well I got rained out from mowing and gardening so I thawed out a big sirloin steak, jacardi tenderized it a while and dropped it into a bag with coca cola, soy sauce, liquid smoke and other spices that caught my eye, and set it aside to marinate.  Took some taters and sliced them about a quarter inch thick, made a big foil pack added the taters, two onions sliced up, butter and again whatever seasonings I found.  Put the taters on the grill to cook.  After about 30 minutes of rotating the tater pack around I went out with the steak and turned the grill up to high.  Gave the steaks a couple minutes to sear on each side and then cut them into fingers.  All in all in was pretty dang good, had some fresh strawberries afterward.  Life is good even if yiu get rained out.  Was so full I had to take a nap.  Ate like a coyote on a fresh gut pile.

Seasoned some drummies with Kickin Chicken Spice and put em on the smoker yesterday after fishing.  Brushed them with a mix of butter and hot sauce every half hour for 3.5 hours.  You could bite clean through the skin and the meat was tender and juicy.  Pretty good day on a private pond in the prowler.  19 inch fat large mouth was the biggest.  Lots of keeper size.  Whackey worm and a couple on Ned.

We wanted simple tonight. I made BLT sandwiches from applewood smoked bacon, Eureka Springs High School hot house lettuce, and the best tomatoes I could find. Think of this as a prayer for really good tomatoes!

The beautiful wife wanted chipotle mayo and I chose sriracha mayo.

I added a little arugula/cucumber/tomato salad on the side.

Life is good in the Ozarks.

Cooked all weekend for my daughters 11yr BDay at Babler. Burgers for 10 on Friday, Belgian Waffles for 11 Saturday AM, Odd hotdog combo for lunch Saturday. Store bought Cresent Roll dough. 1/2 a hot dog split length ways, 2 pc pepperoni, about 1T taco cheese. 3 at a time in the waffle iron. Finger food friendly, all gobbled, with various sides. Taco bar for dinner(kept our taco stuff separate from the poopy fingers). Dutch oven biscuits & sausage gravy for breakfast. Ordered out from Sushi Station last night,  currently a Walnut Grill. Nice to eat out when you need a break.

So, I took the marinade Chief posted a couple days ago, and made it the foundation of an ‘Asian’ meal. Chicken tenders marinated in soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil and some hot sauce and cooked on the Weber. Made some rice with diced mushrooms and added some hoisin sauce and butter at the end. Also had some bok choi, hakeuri turnips and green onions from my weekly CSA pickup. Braised them in some sesame oil with sherry and a little hoisin. Spinach and bagged green salad with Good Seasons Italian dressing doctored up with some soy sauce. Really tasted good to us, which is a little bit of luck because I was mostly winging this.  Although some might say the season isn’t here yet, we broke the rules and had a very nice Marlborough district Sauvignon Blanc.

Last real meal that I made at home. I sliced an onion into thick rings and got some color on them then added a couple cans of a local dark Kolsch with a hint of coffee.

Once the brats had cooked, I pulled them and got them out onto the grill.

Grilled them to get that great grill flavor and that dark skin :D.

Then onto a fresh baked roll, topped with grilled onions and condiments. Not many steps but a great sandwich!
