You're not going to believe this. So for about the last hour of work, this is all I could think of. I was going to make some mashed potatoes to go with it. I was rabid by the time I got home. 

She suckered me into going out for Chinese!! But I still have tomorrow!!!

Out to Sushi after a grade school event. Youngest loves Udon, Oldest wanted a roll, Wife got chefs choice over rice, I got nigiri traditional. 8-12 pc of what I like. All happy.

Birthday in the family got celebrated today. Mexican themed food. Fajita with marinated flank steak done over charcoal, red and yellow bell peppers and red onions. Kathy tried a new chicken enchilada recipe that was very tasty. Sauce of onion, poblano, garlic, ancho chili powder, cumin, tomato sauce, chicken broth. Did the chicken over charcoal too. Pintos with onion, garlic etc. Everything was delicious. Then the cake: Tres Leches cake. White cake, poke full of holes then pour over a mixture of condensed milk, evaporated milk and milk. Refrigerate overnight then frost with whipped cream and dust with cinnamon. Served with strawberries. The cake was a big hit, even though most of us don’t really care much for cake. I loved it, but it was very rich. All new recipes but for the fajitas, and they’re keepers.

My baby girl has been under the weather and she ordered up one of her favorites —  beer and beef stew. Pretty straight forward beef stew with potatoes and carrots, but with a can of Guinness in with the beef broth. Lots of rosemary and thyme. No pics — it looks just like beef stew. 😁

One of my favorites tonight. Meatloaf and creamed peas. 

Pretty basic meatloaf with onion, bread crumbs, eggs, milk. Love the quick sauce of ketchup, mustard and brown sugar. 

All we are saying...is give peas a chance!

Been a lot of quick meals or dining out lately. Not much home cooked meals. We did do a surf and turf for my wife yesterday. Beef filet and swordfish steaks, sweet corrn, and herbed roasted potatoes. Not very creative but tasty.
