5bites Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I read in the OBBT rules that a participant cannot fish closer than 25 yards to another boat unless they obtain the other boaters permission. It's usually 50 but that's a hard one to follow always in every scenario. We could spend the remainder of 2015 on that one. I'm ready for it though.
WeekendWarrior Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 If you guys think that OBBT big bass at TR has lots of boats then you definitely don't want to fish the BBB on Lake Ozarks.

At 25 yards, you can practically converse in a normal tone of voice. I think we can all agree that is way too close. abkeenan 1

eyedabassman Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Anyone hear what the 19 year old caught the winning fish on and where? Just curious. I over heard the kid talking and it was a T-worm.
eyedabassman Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I over heard the kid talking and it was a T-worm. He was flippin boat docks and she hit in 11 ft' of water!
Members 8pounder Posted May 21, 2015 Members Posted May 21, 2015 Flipping boat docks??? Guess all the points and pockets will be void of boats next year but you'll have to take a number to get near a dock. Ketchup and eyedabassman 2 Boats and trucks come in one color - RED, and peanut butter has to be crunchy.
crazy4fishin Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Okay - I have to share my experience.....if you remember there was some great advice on what would help the semi in experienced person fish the rock..Spook, Spinner Bait, swim bait...and of course the Ned. And the thought was if a person won money.... lunch / dinner / Jersey would be awarded....and if the Boat was won break out the sawzall. SO a fisherman that we will not name made sure that he had all of the recommendations in his boat after stops at the local Cabala's and Bass Pro in all of the seasons fashionable colors and spent the week tying, organizing, re-organizing everything. Got to the cabin mid day Friday and settled in for the night...couldn't hardly sleep because he was convinced that the line out of State Park ramp area would be to the Dam....woke up at 2 a.m. and decided that was a bit to early......woke up again at 3:30 and thought better start the coffee.....headed to the ramp around 4:15.....first one there! At first he thought he had the wrong weekend! Then a couple of guys in a Ranger came in and they were fishing the event. He felt better - - Ranger guys are never wrong right? Getting the boat ready - dang it is dark at that time of the morning - yep no flash light....he felt like Helen Keller walking around the boat making sure everything was unhooked. "splashed" as they say - well not so fast.....forgot to release the rear tie downs - CRAP....at least nobody saw him pull back out the the water and jump out and pop them loose and double check the plug for good measure. Finally got the boat in.....4:45 a.m.......one hour and fifteen minutes til first cast...what the heck was he going to do for an hour in the dark on the lake?? So not knowing the lake in the dark he decided to fast idle to the first spot- thank you GPS. Then it rained....and it rained....then it rained a bit more and for good measure one more time. Time for lunch! Eating the BBQ lunch - really spicy - that is another story....while eating a 10 year old weighs in a 4lb'er....really?? All morning using the best tools / advice and the best that he could do was a bunch of 1 pounders.....okay he will get that money fish in the afternoon.....he surmized the fish didn't know what afternoon he was thinking of. Headed in - went to Dana's to drown his sorrows...that is okay tomorrow is a new day. Launched later on Sunday, a little lightening in the area - didn't want to get lit up like ole Ben Franklins kite. Yep everything was unbuckled and plugged....but the wind was blowing - pulled ahead looked back.....holy crap the boat came un tied!! Are you kidding me! Jumped out and had no choice...waded out and got in - thank you whom ever invented that ladder - now he was wet to his nether regions....but hey it was going to rain anyway. Got over to first spot threw the spinner (nice form by the way) SNAP - line breaks and he watched the spinner hit the water and disappear. Not the end of the world - threw the spook.....SNAP....WTH!!! At least it floats. Struggled with the smaller fish...nothing to weigh but fun to catch - quit around 1...it was the sight as the boat was covered with all the clothes drying that he could take off with out getting arrested.....but wet undies is an icky feeling. Yep he will be back as many times as he can this year and years to come! C4F Champ188, Hunter53, jolicious and 1 other 4 Crazy4fishinA Cornhusker
