I'm running (safely) down the lake yesterday afternoon and there's a regular guide (not one on this forum) running just ahead and to the right of me. Suddenly, without so much as looking back, he makes a left turn to go fish a bluff end and runs right across my bow. Had to slow down considerably to keep from hitting him.

Unfortunately, stupidity isn't limited to the inexperienced.

Hmmmm, well I'd have to have been there I suppose, but saying you were "running SAFELY just behind and off to the side of another boat". is a bit of an oxymoron.

Bill, you should have gotten their email address so we could invite them to the next OA One Bass. We could video the whole thing, and no doubt it would go viral.

Bill there was a time I would called BS that time was about 30 years ago though lol. I see it on Beaver all the time, trailer way to deep. There is a sweet spot for a boat and trailer find it and you can load in any situation almost.

I would hate to see these people at Ft Pierce Floriduh North Bridge fighting a Offshore wind and 20knot outgoing tide current yet amazingly people do it every day with no problem.

True, but oddly enough I still don't want the government further involved in boating.

I think we need government involvement. The idea of turning people loose in boats with no training is crazy. I personally think everyone who operates a boat should go through an actual drivers test for the operation (and loading) of a boat. Implementing this would be a PITA but it would possibly save some lives.

you might have a different view point when you have been almost killed by one of the idiots.
