Ketchup Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Hey rps, Those links are as trusted as the Obama admin...Look at who did the study on some. A backyard media nutso who was born anti-gun. Just gotta smile at those things. Ol' wrench said, again in his non-educated opinion, that not ONE of these pro-gun guys even own a vest. Well, i have to disagree because i must be the one you didnt put in that same group. I have owned, and wore one for years. Little warm standing on the pavement working an accident in August, when its 100+ out, but its a tool of tge trade. Hoglaw, as far as im aware, no CC is needed to carry a firearm inside of a vehicle for ANY reason. Nope, just lay it on the seat where the guy trying to car jack your car, and my guess is he would be running for the hills after seeing it. Now without that same protection, your just up a creek with no paddle v TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
fishinwrench Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Since when do opinions need to be educated ? You're a friggin' cop, WE bought it for you. If you had to buy it yourself I bet you wouldn't have it.
Ketchup Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 good point. I guess that all the posts from the antis in this thread are. Just opinions, no facts. On a serious note, i couldnt amagine living without the ability to protect myself or family when all other avenues have been exhausted. I raised my kids, 3 girls and 1 son, around firearms. They all, now in their 20's, love to shoot, and hunt. They are very capable of protecting themselves from any threat, where the threat has the potential to become deadly if need be. I have no issue taking someones life, and wouldnt loose a seconds sleep over it, if the person was in the wrong. I pretty set in my ways, like most gn owners, and think ive done a pretty good job at teaching those in my life self defense and firearm training as to help prevent them from being more of a victim that those without training would be. Have you taught them all to wear a vest ?
Ketchup Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 no teaching needed. Put it over, strap velco, put on a shirt, and your ready. But no, they have no need as their no in daily situations where a high risk of danger presents itself. Well, one is a nurse so i guess she could get away with it. fishinwrench Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 My extended family Douchebag comes into my house and goes to plop down in this chair... His daily carry flys (rips) out of its holster and hits the floor because his @ss is too wide. I'm not friggin happy about that crap. It ain't funny no more. I'm not worried about meth heads, I am worried about Douchebag like him !
Kelroy Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 So, let's see if I got this straight- if a person wants to restrict my right to defend myself with a firearm, they get labelled a "liberal." And a person wanting to defend themself with a firearm, they get called a gun nut, nut-job, beyond crazy, and a Batman-wanna-be. Yeah, there's nothing childish or judgmental about that. The main problem i see with concealed carry is what I call "recreational carry." These are the folks with lax handling skills, poor marksmanship, a fashionable tactical wardrobe, and little or no understanding of the legal, social, and moral responsibilities necessary to walk through society with a concealed deadly weapon. These are the ones you hear about leaving their gun in a bathroom stall, or blowing their toes off, or carrying a firearm loose in their pocket or in a purse, or chasing the bad guys around the block. You may openly criticize such people all you want, for they deserve it. My disagreement begins when the assumption is made that ALL carriers are in that same category. CCW is not for the timid. It cannot be done in a completely safe manner, except to carry with an empty chamber, which carries its own set of risks. Carrying a loaded weapon on your belt, in your waistband, in a purse, wherever it is- that loaded weapon is aimed somewhere all the time, and the carrier must "own" that bullet if and when it leaves the barrel. That is the fundamental responsibility that must be embraced if a person chooses to carry. It requires a level of situational awareness that some people are not comfortable with, and if you choose not to carry because you recognize that limitation in yourself, then I applaud your wisdom. You are ahead of the curve. But please, do not lump all of us in the same basket. Just because one person can't or won't or shouldn't carry, that doesn't apply to everyone. If I was as concerned about armed confrontation as you guys are I'd pack a gun....but FIRST I'd be decked out like a gladiator/swat team member. I mean if this is war, then lets not f#c& around !
