fishinwrench Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Well I prefer to speak to you as a friend, not as someone I'm seeking a loan from, or someone I owe lots of money. If I ever offend you.... Get over it. Smalliebigs and kjackson 2
Al Agnew Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Compared to many websites, this one is very civil. Phil's policy of mosty not allowing political and religious posts eliminates most of the vituperation. And most of the regular posters have been on here long enough that we all kinda know each other and practice restraint. But a reminder never hurts. Moswimb8slinger and Daryk Campbell Sr 2
fishinwrench Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 No problem with honesty and disagreement. But one doesn't have to be nasty or mean about it is the point, I think. Who got nasty, mean, or truly bent out of shape? Aggressor was the only one I've seen get all torqued, and he started it with himself (cybil) right after he found Jesus, so that was probably just some "speaking in tongue" kinda thing. No harm done or hurt feelings that I've noticed. snagged in outlet 3 and Smalliebigs 2

Ketchup Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Im with Wrench "hard to say". Some bring it on themselves. Honesty is a hard pill for some to swallow. I tease on here, because afterall, it is JUST the interweb. Ask anyone who knows me, and im the first helping in any way. But, im like most, and have things in life im passionate about "handguns and LE, hense why my first sentence" but that doesnt mean i wont piss on your if your on fire. Some just need to remember that tones are very hard to read in a typed comment. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
MOPanfisher Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Just like in real life with a group of people, you quickly learn who you can tease, who will take it and give it right back then loan you their last Ned rig. Others you quickly learn that no matter what the subject they know everything, those you do your best to avoid and they will eventually implode. Some of us have hot buttons that we are passionate about and will sometimes get a little aggressive about. Most of us would happily argue about a topic then if you called and said you were broke down somewhere would come get you. Such is life, disagreement doesn't equal dislike, sometimes I don't agree with something I said myself. Mitch f 1
Blll Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 I've only been on this forum for 18 months or so. I fish Beaver Lake but do read/post on other forums. I've noticed two things that have changes drastically since I started. 1) There are many fewer posts about fishing outings on the Beaver forum. I'm thinking that is because the fishing has been very tough this year and no one wants to post about poor outings. That's too bad because even unsuccessful trips can be informative. Several frequent posters have "gone quiet" completely. Hope they are alive & well and will share again when ready. I'm still a novice on Beaver but almost any success I've had was from what I learned on this forum and I've tried to post about my trips good or bad. Change #2) The TR forum has become frequently mean spirited. Opinions are great and good humored banter about the worship of the Ned Rig or mocking of the weekend jersey fashions have transformed into verbal combat about fish release vs fish kill and the threat of withholding info because you might catch a fish with my fabled knowledge and god-forbid eat it. Lets be-hatin' the poachers, bad boaters, and complain about the weather. JMO
