Chat room feature ... let's use it!

The chat room contained within Ozark Anglers (see the blue menu bar near the top of the page) seems like a good option for quick messages and --- most of all --- for sharing fishing info. Lots of folks, myself included, do not want to put detailed information out on the public forum because of nonmember lurkers and others (including a few members) who choose to kill bass.

You can see who is in the room, and the room is not available to nonmembers.

Regardless of how you feel about sharing detailed info, it seems a good way to chat and get to know each other better without making so many posts on the actual forum.

Thanks for bringing up the chat room, Champ188.  I didn't know about it.  I just tried it and found no one there, so I left - but now I know how to get there and I know it's a feature that'll come in handy at times.

You'll know there are people in the chat room if there is a red number next to the link in the menu bar.

Every time I looked at the icon it said "1"....  there's gotta be a joke or two for that... ;-)

Maybe there's only room for one in there. (Would that make it a chat closet?)

It occurs to me that another use for the room would be to hold discussions led by a forum member who excels at a particular method of fishing. Two that come immediately to mind are dtrs5kprs on the Ned rig and Bill Babler on structure fishing. Many others would qualify as well. Just a thought.

I was thinking along that line myself.  What I was thinking of is having a scheduled "Bass Chat", for example, every Tuesday evening at 7 PM.   If a subject matter expert shows up, then that is great, but if not we could still probably just talk fishing.

I'll throw it out there that we try for next Tuesday, November 3, at 7 PM.
