Champ188 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 The chat room contained within Ozark Anglers (see the blue menu bar near the top of the page) seems like a good option for quick messages and --- most of all --- for sharing fishing info. Lots of folks, myself included, do not want to put detailed information out on the public forum because of nonmember lurkers and others (including a few members) who choose to kill bass. You can see who is in the room, and the room is not available to nonmembers. Regardless of how you feel about sharing detailed info, it seems a good way to chat and get to know each other better without making so many posts on the actual forum. Sam Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Thanks for bringing up the chat room, Champ188. I didn't know about it. I just tried it and found no one there, so I left - but now I know how to get there and I know it's a feature that'll come in handy at times. Champ188 1
moguy1973 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 You'll know there are people in the chat room if there is a red number next to the link in the menu bar. Champ188 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Ham Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 The chatroom is a lonely place. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Quillback Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I see no one there. I'm checking out for the night, but will keep an eye on it in the future.
bfishn Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Every time I looked at the icon it said "1".... there's gotta be a joke or two for that... ;-) Maybe there's only room for one in there. (Would that make it a chat closet?) One word. Skype I can't dance like I used to.
Champ188 Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 It occurs to me that another use for the room would be to hold discussions led by a forum member who excels at a particular method of fishing. Two that come immediately to mind are dtrs5kprs on the Ned rig and Bill Babler on structure fishing. Many others would qualify as well. Just a thought. Muddy Water 1
Sore Thumbs Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 What about me and my Drop Shot prowess? ?
Champ188 Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 What about me and my Drop Shot prowess? ? You, sir, are out of control. You've gone over to the dark side with that drop shot deal. Tell J.R. hi when you see him. He lives on the dark side. LOL

What I was thinking of is having a scheduled "Bass Chat", for example, every Tuesday evening at 7 PM. If a subject matter expert shows up, then that is great, but if not we could still probably just talk fishing. I'll throw it out there that we try for next Tuesday, November 3, at 7 PM.
