Quillback Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Saw his article, sounds like they are getting bad - is it just one area of the lake or are they this thick every where on Bull? http://www.nevadadailymail.com/story/2243734.html
Members JRay Posted October 27, 2015 Members Posted October 27, 2015 I haven't been below Lead Hill recently, but its that bad from Lead Hill to Powersite. Extremely sad thing for me to see on such a great lake. Diamond City Fisher 1
MOPanfisher Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Generally what will happen on a lake with zebra infestation is 5 hey will go through a tremendous population boom for a few years, then crash, and finally rebound to a somewhat sustainable population. Although with the extreme elevation fluctuations on Bull Shoals they may go through several boom bust cycles. They are there to stay though, just try to keep them out of TR for as long as possible if not already too late. bs1827 1
Jerry Rapp Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I haven't ever read anywhere that zebra's didn't help a fishery. dtrs5kprs 1

Lots of negative ZM propaganda has everyone convinced that they are bad news. Same with didymo, the emerald ash borer, ect. It's always something that we wouldn't be able to control no matter what we do. Just a bunch of biologists trying to make their job seem important. As soon as we grow tired of hearing about one potential threat they come up with a new one. Where is the devastation from any of it ? Meanwhile nothing is being done, and all study has halted in regards to the things we CAN control.
Ham Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Last fall I saw PLENTY of them along bluffs down lake from Big Creek. I have not been on BSL since July. I expect to lose a lot more FB head jigs. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Fish24/7 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 just started seeing them around the Theodosia Marina area last year. Not that thick , but there are some. North of the hwy 160 bridge , no.
Members JRay Posted October 28, 2015 Members Posted October 28, 2015 Wrench, Head down to Bull Shoals and wind your favorite crankbait down the bank and watch it disappear when a bass loads up on it and your line breaks immediately from those little razor-shells......you'll feel a little devastation! Ham Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 So basically we know they are from Beaver creek all the way down lake to the junction with the Theodosia Creek arm and up the Theodosia arm to just south of the Hwy 160 bridge. I'll keep my eyes open, but I would expect them to be in every major part of the lake to some extent by next Spring next year. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future.
