How come we never hear about Acid Rain anymore ?    Did that stop happening or did we come up with a new name for it ?

Acid rain is primarily from sulfur, nitrogen, and phosphorus emissions.  All have been dramatically decreased since the 1970's.  It was a great cooperative environmental effort actually.  So...it still is a problem...as any oxide of a nonmetal will react with water for form an acid, so a local concentration that somehow is leaked can cause problems in an area just down wind...but globally the problem has been decreased.

How much effort should be made "saving" a planet that God is eventually going to replace  with another so amazing and wonderful that the current earth pales in comparison?  Earth will be our "home/habitat" until God decides otherwise.

this is what my in laws tell me, but im just not very imaginative.

God is going to do it AGAIN ?    I don't remember reading that, but I hope he learned a thing or two from the last attempt.  What a friggin' nightmare !

I guess the term "settled science" has always been a questionable term with me. We dont know everything out there, and there are folks that would let you believe that because you have a differing opinion about the existence of a Judeo Christian God , or religion, then you are just a flat earther. Well, there arent as many absolutes in science as they let on.

Fortunately or unfortunately,  there is no such thing as settled science...every discovery opens the door to more and more questions, but i dont think that is justification for discounting what has been learned.  Is gravity "settled science"?  IDK, but I make the assumption it will work for me all the time.  Nobody really understands quantum mechanics, but almost all technology is completely reliant on quantum mechanical principles which we dont question at all with no understanding.  For some reason, though,  some people pick and choose what science we care to rely on.  Imagine the first person to ever eat a microwave cooked meal? What a gamble!  In regards to god, my mother is quite religious, there is nothing wrong with being faithful...Its just not for me, i dont see any evidence of an afterlife.  What Ive found that its very easy for one to accept another persons mythology for just that, but its very difficult to admit to ones self.  For example...polytheistic beliefs are not taken seriously by anyone anymore.

Yes eventually the aliens will return for us. Those that are still alive will be taken to another planet to be enslaved I'm sure. I don't think it will be much of a vacation.

What other variables?  So CO2 doesnt absorb IR light (most of the suns energy is in the IR range)?  What else is causing such a radical increase in temperature?  What else is causing the decrease in pH in the oceans, and the build up of carbonic acid? This is the type of BS that drives me nuts...its good to be skeptical and question things...but have you submitted any papers to journals?  Can you elaborate on your findings?  Im really curious.  I worry that my son and the generation after him will hate us for our selfishness.  How can so many people continue to deny the obvious?

i was down at PBS this morning. Bought 200 jig hooks, 75 worm hooks and two packs of trailers and a lead snipped pliers. spent $51. Jig hooks were all size 0/1 and  0/3. 100.each of the jig in a box( Eagle Claw O' Shaunesy style) . 50 0/4 worm hooks and 2/5 0/5 worm hooks( PBS brand, Two packs of tournament trailers, and a small led snip pliers. Cost me  $51 bucks. Would hve cost me at least twice that much if I would have bought all the expensive stuff some people swear by on here.
