Members Ktchnbtch Posted March 30, 2016 Members Posted March 30, 2016 I spent my first day on TR Saturday, had a good time with my son but I'm heading back this weekend without him and to a totally different area so I could use some advice. Saturday we fished Indian point area, this weekend I'm going to Big M or Eagle Rock. Any advice on that area ( eagle rock to kings river) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Ketchup Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 People will be pretty tight lipped due to the Big Bass Bash this weekend. I would say, look on Google maps at the area you intend to fish, look for gravel points, secondary points, anything with rock, and have fun. Champ188, crazy4fishin and mixermarkb 3 TinBoats BassClub. Champ188 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Fish are starting to move into spawning areas. As Ketchup suggested, secondary points with gravel should be a good place to start. Whatever dragging lures you like to throw should get you some bites.
Quillback Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 There's a couple of different approaches you can take now, go for numbers, or go for size. If you want numbers of 12-16" fish, it is hard to beat the Ned rig right now, little finesse jigs are also working well, match your tackle to the fish and you can have a lot of fun. You'll still have a shot at a couple of bigger fish even with the Ned. If you want to go for size, well that's always a bit more of a challenge, if you saw Bill Babler's latest report, he has been throwing big jigs, cranks, wobble head, and maybe a paddle tail bait here and there. There also appears to be a bit of a top water bite developing. Good luck, and I look forward to hearing how you do.
Sore Thumbs Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I fished in the white river part of beaver yesterday. I caught most of my fish with a jig in deeper pre spawn staging areas in small cuts or creeks. Yesterday was bright skys and they were either in the shade or very tight to cover. I did catch a few stragglers in between docks with a drop shot.
chi0082 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 This weekend you'll be competing with 300 other boats on the lake. Big Bass tournament is going on this weekend. Just an FYI.
Sore Thumbs Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I can't believe I'm saying this but Beaver is on fire right now. Cmon down. It's not much further. mixermarkb 1
Sore Thumbs Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 On the other han. If that tournament is out of Big Cedar I don't think there will be a lot of boats that run that far up river. That's a long haul back if you catch a good one. Grumpy53, eyedabassman and mixermarkb 3
Bill Babler Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Thumbs, they can put in anywhere. It is not a shot-gun start out of BC. Everyone gets on their favorite location and they get a text to start the festivities. Believe you me they will fish from Holiday Island to Galena to Both Arkansas portions of the Kings and Long Creek. The Beaver suggestion is a great one. This can be a great time down there. Lots of staging fish can be caught in the trees in front of the spawning pockets. Throw that jerkbait or if you got a hankering the Rig in woody places in front of gravel pockets. You will catch fish. You might even catch one of those Big White/Silver ones that will take your junk. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Flysmallie Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 300 boats isn't that many on Table Rock. It won't be any busier than what it normally is this time of year.
