Quillback Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Always liked Johnny Cash. If you can do a self portrait of yourself with a song, he did it here when he covered this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vt1Pwfnh5pc
fishinwrench Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Johnny Cash talking to music. Never could stomach that. I detect alot of original Skynyrd in these boys...
joeD Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 They just missed the beard and 70s shagadelic revival ala Chris Stapleton. Skynyrd for sure. That's the music biz and the now super fickle public, always on the lookout for the newest thing, which is generally something that has been done before. Only better. rps had a couple good ones, though I'm not generally a fan of the "let's get some stars together and make a record" music. I'm still an inveterate lover of punk rock:
Quillback Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Loved Skynyrd back in the day, but if I hear "Gimmee 3 steps" whatever device it is on gets turned off. Terrierman, ness and Flysmallie 3
Mitch f Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 The 2 of the best songwriters of all time: "The Silence of a falling star, lights up a purple sky...and as I wonder where you are, I'm so lonesome I could cry" And This: and last but not least, a very relevant song for this week: too bad this guy died of cancer way too early? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
joeD Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 Hank Williams didn't win a Nobel prize. Don't get me started about Bob Dylan getting one.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Get going on it, Joe. I bet it's very entertaining.
Mitch f Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Good stuff right here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jK-zBVqgIS0&sns=em "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
