Had no idea vehicles even had this. Watch out for one that comes up saying too much good food. Call girlfriend. etc. It may be reading your mind. If it ever comes up saying time to refinish your deck you had better do it :) . I would understand if it came up saying no cilantro zone ahead or exit for the next pea!

Boy, you sure strung a lot of stuff together for that post! 😄

Driving home the other night and this shows up on the dash. This one’s new to me.

I guess I was driving like I was tired?

How do you drive when you are tired?

The car wasn't worried about YOU, it was tired and wanted a nap.  Better listen to it or it will get pissy and blow a tire, shell out a transmission, or something.

They are like women. Don't bother asking What's Wrong, because it will just say "Nuthin".   Maybe a  warm carwash and a day of detailing is overdue?   It obviously feels that you are being an insensitive azzhole.

The only thing I can think of is it’s got the lane departure sensor—so if I go over the line it beeps and nudges the steering wheel to get me back in my lane. That, plus maybe the time of day. This was at about 9:30 at night.

More likely the logged amount of run time since the last stop.

Well for crying out loud.  Freakin' computerized mechanical devices !

I love to tell people that I suspect a hidden detonation schedule secretly programmed into outboard ECM's. :)

It's a joke but honestly it wouldn't surprise me all that much.  If Mercury wanted their engines to last forever they'd provide parts for them for longer than 7 years. And at more reasonable cost.

Well it wasn’t that long ago that iPhone got busted for slowing down their old devices.

Yep, and all computers seem to always take on that bogged down, impossible to fix issue after a couple years, even though their is plenty of ram left.  The only fix has always been too just buy a new one.  No amount of "cleaning files" and "reconfiguring" ever helps.

No doubt in my mind that it is purposely designed that way.
