We had our club tourney this past weekend, stayed at Schooner creek and met Dave (dtrs5kprs) which was a pleasure to meet him and pick his brain about Ned and TR fishing in general. Fished from 5-2 Sat and 5-10 Sunday. Fishing was slow but productive for us, had 3 keepers for 8.29 on Saturday and 4 keeps Sunday for 9.47 with all fish being largemouth. Caught all fish on a Shakeyhead or what I like to call it "power Shakeyhead" we use up at LOZ and 2 on 9/16 oz jig. Caught all fish shallow, 10 foot or less on mixed rock banks in brush. Could not get anything going on pea gravel flats with grub or the Ned rig sitting boat in 25 to 35 foot. Some fish caught by some on topwater, bluffs with jigs with their nose right on bluff and some largemouth caught as deep as 30 foot in brush is what I heard. Big fish of 6.06 caught on a worm in 2 foot of water in buck brush.

Nice WW! Those are two good ones.  LOZ was like and ocean from 9-9 this weekend.....

WW, if I am reading the score sheet correctly you are fishing against your partner in the same boat.  Nice picture of some healthy fish.  What is the "power shakeyhead" method?  Sounds interesting.  Congratulations on the tourney and also on surviving the boat traffic over the weekend.

Yes you are fishing against your partner and not as a team, but we do pay out for big boat as a team. I blew my boat up after putting on a brand new lower unit so I was in the back of the boat which was different and really relaxing except for trying to figure out what to take when I was used to a 19 foot tackle box with 12 rods at my disposal ?. What I call a power Shakeyhead we use up here at LOZ or I use pretty much anywhere is a Crock-a-gator screw in jig head in 5/16 to 3/4 oz with a 5 inch senko.

WW, I hear ya about the 19' tackle box.  Most of us are in the same situation when we get asked to fish out of another boat.  What and how much do I bring?  Thanks for the information on the LOZ tactic.  I've used that set up there, I just didn't know what to call it.  I use the heavier head because it gives me a better feel.

Good meeting you brother. Hope everyone had safe travels home.

Ned fish are a little shallower, and not on pea gravel places as much, unless there is a drop nearby . Flat stuff is pretty dead. We caught a bunch this morning on a combo of the little guy and a full zinkerz on a 1/4oz shakey.

Guys, WW just gave away the store with his depth info. Fish around 13 are still shallow, both directions from the bridge. Not super hot yet, and the bank to 20' is a full blown buffet right now. Not to mention the colored up water.

Should add...it was nice to meet guys from a club that reminded me of home. Pretty regular, pretty good sticks, regular guy boats, and a significant lack of jerseys and yeti coolers :D.

Just to totally train wreck this thread, I wonder how much it costs to actually produce a yeti cooler? Nice coolers, but good grief do they cost too much.

Ham, a significant portion of people who buy Yeti coolers don't give a rat's ear about the price or the manufacturer's profit margin. They just want the Yeti name on the side as conspicuously as possible.

I won a 27 can Yeti at a supplier's annual BBQ. It's awesome in every way but one; I don't dare risk being seen with it.

I can't dance like I used to.
