Spinner bait, square bill, top water, shakey head, is what I approached it with last year, that was 2nd week in Nov. If I was in the back of boat and windy, And on the move, I myself would possibly be using spinner bait or square bill, and or buzz bait maybe. Was considering a swim bait also. Last year I did real well with a spinnerbait but fishing will probably change daily so be flexible depending on weather and water temp. Some of the locals will probably provide more tips for you. Good luck!

Jim, the search tool is very useful.  You can use search terms like Cape Fair, November, fall, etc. You can also go to You Tube and search for table rock fishing reports and then find fall or November.

Probably will depend a lot on what the guy in the front gives you. But I will share this with you, have had a gentleman from Kentucky stay with us several times when FLW ( THE HEAVY HITTERS ) fished Table Rock, he fished out of the back of the boat & 1 year came in 6th. place & the next year he won it. Primarily doing the same thing each time, fished a MANNS STING RAY GRUB ( AVCOADO COLOR ) on a ball type jig head when he could up shallow @ visible cover, when he could not fish shallow or if the shallow bite was not there he would make long casts out into the middle of the creek arm, or out into deep water if on the main lake & let the grub settle to the bottom then, give the grub a good lift off the bottom 3ft. to 6ft. let it float back down & repeat. Other times he would fish a jig & trailer up shallow more dragging it on the bottom behind the boat ( KINDA LIKE TROLLING ) this keeps the jig in the strike zone for a greater time than your standard cast & retrieve. Both worked equally well for him, no guarantees but I would sure try both.

Dragging your lure behind a moving boat, i.e. allowing the boat to be the force that moves the lure, IS TROLLING and is illegal in nearly any tournament I've ever fished. There have been some intense debates over this on the pro circuits.

Sending a pm, Jim.

Trolling or Strolling is done everyday and in every tournament I have ever fished.  Just turn the crank every 30 seconds and there is no way you are not legal.  Fall asleep with your bait dragging the bottom and catching a biggin may be a problem.

Greg's advice was pretty durn good.

well bill, this is one of the reasons that i do not pursue tournaments.  you can make it sound in your head anyway you want to, but the fact is that pulling your lure along with the trolling motor is trolling, no matter is you do turn your handle once in a while.  you could do the same trolling with the outboard engine and it is still trolling.

if trolling is to be allowed, then no trolling needs to be taken out of the rules.  you talk about "tom foolery" all the time.  well, dragging with the trolling motor and not calling it trolling is right at the height of "tom foolery".

i do not care if strolling is done all the time in a tournament where the rules state no trolling.  it is against the rules and should be applied as such.  if you want to have a trolling tournament, then lets have one, and the actual folks that do know how to troll with clean everyone's clocks.  you can drag your lure all you want, but when there is a no trolling rule, the dragging needs to be done by casting and retrieving.

This is one rule that should be changed. It simplifies everyone's interpretation of trolling. First of all I don't think any type of trolling or strolling is that big of a advantage and if there was no any rules regarding this issue, I bet most people wouldn't do it anyway.

Now back to Jim's original question: Topwater, white jigging spoon, white flutter spoon, jig, and shakey head.

Donna fished with a well-known local a few years back in a Central Pro-Am fall event on Table Rock. All day, the guy dragged a football jig with his trolling motor.

So yes, it's done a lot. But I'm with Bo --- it isn't right. The rule either needs to be enforced or struck down.

Myself based on my experiences here on LOZ I find it hard to believe trolling would beat out a good flipper on this lake. Your moving to fast trolling even at trolling speed and you cannot intice a certain fish. It sometimes takes more thn one cast into a spot to get a hit.
