You have to let it breathe a little

No you have to hold your nose to drink that crap. I generally just take a swig right from the bottle but Ness is more upper class living in Johnson County  :D.  He does make good fruitcake though. I have been chewing the flavor out of the cheesecloth cover,

I know what you are saying Mitch. You and I are Missouri Residents so it is pretty easy to figure that bottle tipping. The manly thing to do,

Drinking a Bud Light as I type this...

I'm not much of a drinker, but do enjoy a number of different drinks.  Not much of a wine person...don't like dry wines at all, and sweet wines have to be at just the right sweetness.  Here in Ste. Genevieve County, the old timers made really sweet wines, and I have a brother-in-law who still does.  Okay for one small glass, then it gets too cloying.

Beer--I CAN drink about anything...even Stag.  But I prefer light beers.  Bud Light is about as good as anything as far as I'm concerned.  Stella is good.  At Costco, at certain times of the year they sell a Mexican beer special...four different Mexican beers in a case.  Tecate, Sol, and Dos Equis Green are all great.  Dos Equis Blue is horrific.  I try to give it away to visitors :).

Mary made some crab apple liqueur a couple years ago from crabapples from the trees we have in the yard in Montana.  It is spectacular, and has only gotten better with age.

As far as the hard stuff...I like a good scotch, straight.  In a mixed drink, I'll take vodka and tonic--has to be Absolut vodka, good quality tonic water, clear ice cubes, and a slice of lime.

Tito's vodka. Found it at Ed's  in St. James years ago. Available in every market near my house these days. Look for the neary empty shelf. Cheaper than Kettle One or Absolut and better IMO.

Anybody know if it's any good?   Twas a tad pricey for ME.

It's a good one.

Not a scotch drinker, just don't like the smoky flavor. More of an Irish whisky guy, but.... Was talking to a guy a while back about scotch and my dislike for the smoke, and he had me try McCallans. That worked for me. Still favor the Irish and bourbon, but that's a goodun

Hey now, don't lump me in with the Johnson County elite. You know I'm a simple guy living in the wrong edge of the county, growing veggies, brewing cider, fermenting kraut, making fruitcake, peeing off the deck, sleeping with bird dogs. Those Leawoodians would scoff if they knew what went on over here, but screw 'em. Life is good here. In a couple hours I'm gonna put on some pants and burn some leaves.
