Thanks.  If cases have been documented, no matter how few, then by definition it's no longer speculation.  If the MDC quail guys say it happens I'm willing to believe them, and I'm not interested in debating a fact.  Whatever hangup you have about bird farms is yours to explore, at your own leisure.  I have a woodpecker to attend to- it gets cranky when there's not peanuts on the stump in the backyard.

I love you guys............ we went from hogs to quail............ to diseases................but somehow got back to money...................... the perfect circle.

I just say this....... if you see a hog it should be legal to shoot it, corp property, private property, etc.

Quail............. don't get me started.......... without proper cover they can't make it.............. BUT pen raised birds can be successfully ( and without disease ) released into the wild.....proper time of year........ proper age bird.................. doesn't work without the cover though.

Elk????? Finally got them started again. But if I remember right the ones that were "let go" by an Asian investor that kind of went broke in Missouri were killed by MDC. I might be wrong about this as it was several years ago and I cannot pull up the info. This was AFTER a couple of young men who shot one were fined for hunting big game in  Missouri illegally.Seems as though it would have been much cheaper ( I cannot believe they passed on that one ) to "start them back from these" instead. Oh yeah, the farmers that are near where the Elk were released aren't very wild about it. I know some of them. Of course they will end up feeding them. But then on the other hand they feed the Deer too. And likewise get no income from the sales of the licenses. ( oh yeah, want to point out, the Deer were stocked too )

Pheasants native to Missouri?? You are right as they are not. Nor Nebraska or any other state.

OK, so as I see it.......................... MONEY....................... make it worthwhile and in this life that " thing" will get the best attempt at being accomplished you can imagine.

Does your woodpecker have this potential?

Walcrabass, I agree with you on one point.  You do have your man-parts in an uproar.

Waltef I am going to tell you rght now. your congressman or senator at the national level does not give enoughvof a darn about your problems. Only way to really give them into action is get the Media interested in YOUR problem and views. and let the congresman know your talking to the media. Your just yourself. The  media scsres him.

I was hunting Hogs and doing well on Corps  Lands. Was told MDC was stopping hunting on Public Lands I thought well this don't bother me.

Then I found they had put a stop to all Hog Hunting on Public Lands including Corps and Mark Twain National Forest Lands. Then I was told that where I had been hunting MDC had eradicated all the Hogs. Went over there Hog Numbers are same as always. MDC said they wanted me to tell them if I seen any Hogs. I told them I wouldn't if anything do my best to run them out of the area.

They also told me in order to keep hunters from being in violation of Baiting Laws if they are Trapping they will close down the area.

What gets me yes they went through the period of Public Input, thing is most were going by what the MDC was saying 99% of them had never hunted a Hog. One thing about it I was truthful with the MDC and told them I hoped they failed because I enjoyed hunting them and it would be stupid for me wanting them eradicated.

They are paying a Team to Trap then Hunt the ones they don't get in Traps. They are using Boar Buster Traps, which can be tripped by Cell Phone anywhere in the state.

What kind of numbers of hogs shot and retrieved did you usually get in a year oneshot?

Average 5. But I always shot Boars because Sows produce.
