I'm thinking the extra couple of inches may give me a bit more casting distance. We shall see. If it doesn't work out, I'll either find something else to do with it or sell it for the little bit I have invested in it. I'll let you guys know how it works out. I'm also thinking that little extra bit of length will put Donna 2 more inches back toward the Mercury, therefore keeping that jig out of my "winding water." What a fisherman in every sense of the word. Not just keeping secrets on locations, baits, depth or colors.....but now the man won't even tell you what kind of rod he is using. AND trying to put his poor wife's lure TWO INCHES farther behind him! He's starting to remind me a little of Tiger Woods - you know, has to have a pair of shoes specifically designed to fit his "new" golf swing. This guy might just be the same deal - crank bait shoes, spinnerbait shoes, topwater shoes, well, you get the idea. Maybe even a specific hat for each or pants that set a little higher or lower on the hip depending on the cast required. No wonder he doesn't possess buffs and jerseys - he'd go broke owning enough to fit all of his fishing styles! Like all the truly great ones, he's a specialist and deliberately mysterious. Old plug Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Well champ they should be happy you share your knowledge with them. You do not need to tell them how to fish in your spots. your are a honorable man. When the subject turns to where and when I have no honor what so ever. Champ188 1
bluebasser86 Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Love my old St. Croix Pro Glass, but they're hard to find anymore. Recently picked up a 7' MH/M Quantum KVD cranking stick and it's the best cranking rod I've owned next to the St. Croix.
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 OK, just to add to the mix. 1 piece, or 2 piece? Why? How do you store/transport the 1 piece? Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. Sore Thumbs Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 1 piece for sure. Can you specify your last question? Are you talking about storing in your home, vehicle or boat? Daryk Campbell Sr 1
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 All. I am possibly going to buy a new rod in the next few days or month. I have couple one piece rods, and have a hard time getting then out of the cab of my truck. They are not 7 footers. Just curious if there wad something that I am missing. I could put them in the bed, but it is open. Too easy for grab-n-go. Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction.
