Quillback Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 I count the bass I catch, I keep a journal and note the water temp, lake level (if on a fluctuating lake like TR or Beaver), and of course note what lures and colors were fished that day. I just summed it up for this year and I caught 1,517 bass. I don't use a clicker so that's not an exact number and I don't count bass less than about 10". Probably 75% of them came from Table Rock, but also caught fish from Beaver, Swepco, and the Bella Vista lakes. I think this year I am going to spend more time throwing cranks and swim baits. probably won't catch as many fish, but I think it might produce better quality and it's fun sometimes to fish different stuff than what I normally fish. With all that being said, it sure is fun to be out on a nice warm late spring morning throwing a top water. I hope all of you are able to get out and enjoy yourselves fishing this year! Also, you didn't list an ice-fishing pole or a tip-up as a gear type that you've fished with. We could take a trip up to the U.P. to ice-fish next week if you want. I checked the weather and the high is 10 and the low is -6, which isn't too bad. You could catch some new species like Menominee Whitefish, Lake Whitefish, Rainbow Smelt, and Splake. We could eat pasties and drink Schlitz. It would be a good time... Don't tempt him. You may not grasp the full extent of his sickness. Johnsfolly 1

Gavin Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Love to float and camp in the winter, but won't stare at a hole in the ice. Would show for free flowing whiskey, and a card game though.
