Quillback Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Picked up a jar of these trailers from TW a couple of months ago. I thought they would make a great trailer for winter jig fishing. Anyway, tried them out when I got them, threaded them on the jig hook, tried just poking the hook through once and let It hang from the bend, no matter what I did, the trailer would come off before I got the jig worked back to the boat. And it wasn't because of a bite. They look great, have good action, real soft, but just will not stay on the hook - but - maybe there is some way to rig them that they will stay on? I sent an email to slimers - no reply. Thought I would appeal to the great minds on OA to see if any of you had fished these, or had any rigging ideas. Could be something obvious that I am missing. magicwormman 1
abkeenan Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I would try some sort of trailer hook stopper like you would on a spinnerbait/buzzbait trailer. The round clear tubing kind. That or maybe cut out a piece of a milk carton container with a hole punch (or just a round piece with scissors) and punch the hook through that after you thread this "slimer" on there. That's all I got. crazy4fishin, dtrs5kprs and MGP 3

motoman Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Google image search - fishing screw-lock - I have a similar variety; that I can't think of the exact name of; but similar principle.
