We saved this kentucky floating on the surface with the oversized shad in his mouth. He swam off hopefully to learn his lesson about eating something so big. Overall we caught 10 on a 7/8 war eagle spoon, drop shot, pbj ned and this nice keeper on a berkley cutter table rock color jerkbait. Beautiful day to be out 63 degrees 45 wt. Caught everything in 20 to 30ft of water on the edge of creek channels. merc1997 Bo, Hammer time, evilcatfish and 2 others 5

That K looks to be about 13" and that gizzard if I had to guess is in the 7-8" neighborhood. Half or more of the boogers body length. I know fish eat those big gizzards but I just can never fully commit to throwing the big swimmers I have for more than like an hour. Royal Blue and crazy4fishin 2
Hammer time Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Great report and thanks for sharing. It has always amazed me how bass try to eat prey that's way oversized. Thanks for saving that Kentucky bass, you sure made his day! Champ188 and dtrs5kprs 2

I hear that - something about casting a lure the size of a small fish just does not compute for me....but this year I am going to try this more...I am sure that I will go farther between bites, which is a hard thing to do, but I hope that the size will get up there. I say that and here is what will happen....I will throw the big stuff....get no bites for a long period of time (3-5 minutes)....get pissy at myself and pick the Ned up so I can get into the action.... Well it was nice while it happened in my mind.... C4F vernon, abkeenan, Royal Blue and 4 others 7 Crazy4fishinA Cornhusker
