Johnsfolly Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 We go a good amount rain last night☺. Filled up the dry creek behind our house.May not even need to water today. Did lose one or oldest hens to the heat yesterday while I was on a fishing marathon. Not real happy about that. She was on the headed for stock list then she started laying again. Get to deal with that today as well as empty the beetle traps. I suspect that they will be pretty gross after the rains to get all the dead bugs out. BilletHead 1
BilletHead Posted July 23, 2017 Author Posted July 23, 2017 Sorry about you loosing the groceries (Chicken) but glad you got a rain. We are getting a sprinkle but it is evaporating as soon as it hits the ground. I emptied two traps that had two days worth of beetles. STINKO ! I emptied them into a bucket and sprinkled some seven dust on them and killed them all then washed out the traps. It is becoming a war against the beetles. I sure hope the yearly cycle is winding down soon. I am noticing less and less on the crape myrtles daily but not in the traps yet. Johnsfolly Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 I just don't know where all these beetles are coming from. Everyday we kill them by the hundreds. And still will get more as soon as we empty the traps. Maybe we are pulling beetles from Jeff city☺. Can't wait to have a day when the traps are empty. BilletHead 1

grizwilson Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Think my black snake keeps rabbits at bay, the deer, ground hog and skunks...... Dry weather...... Not able to get a clear shot at ground hog or skunks... not sure what to do with skunk if caught in a live trap.... about to throw in towel. “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
snagged in outlet 3 Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Trust me you don't want to trap a skunk.
