Your good to go with DL.

Being age 65 does not cover Trout Stamp though.  You would still need to purchase that if pursuing those slick fishes in Missouri waters, other than trout parks.

I dont think you need those paper/plastic tags for deer or turkey either if you're using phone app as long as you immediately notch your tag and telecheck, both through the app.  For my archery deer this year I did just that. No tag on deer.  App shows time & date of notching & telecheck as well as what was checked, doe, button or antlered buck.

MDC regs below.

POSSESSION AND SALE

Properly checked deer and turkeys may be possessed by anyone if labeled with the taker’s full name, address, date taken, and Telecheck confirmation number. The Telecheck confirmation number must remain attached to the carcass until a meat processor begins working on the animal.

TAGGING AND CHECKING (for Turkeys)

As long as you stay with your harvested turkey, you don't need to attach your notched permit to the bird, but you must keep your permit on hand. If you leave your turkey, you must attach your permit to the turkey's leg. Visit the Telecheck page for more information on how to properly tag and check your bird.

NOTE: Effective July 1, 2015, the Wildlife Code of Missouri requires hunters, anglers, and trappers to carry either a signed hard copy or an electronically signed digital copy of the prescribed permit with them while actively engaged in hunting, fishing, or trapping. The signed paper or digital copy of the permit should then be exhibited to any officer charged with the enforcement of this Code upon request, or to any transportation company or postal employee when presenting wildlife for shipment.

After harvesting a deer or turkey it is still necessary to immediately notch the month and date of harvest on your permit, which you can now do within the MO Hunting application. You must telecheck your harvest by 10:00 pm on the day of harvest, or prior to being removed from the state, and record the Telecheck confirmation number on your voided permit.

i downloaded the MO Fishing App last night and loaded my 2017 fishing permit.  I suppose had I purchased my license on line, I wouldn't have had to input the permit number in the app.    With the permit on my mobile device at least I'll always know where it is...no more fumbling in various niches in the wallet anymore.  Did a screen shot too so I don't have to open the app if I'm ever checked, there's a few spots on the water where I might not be able to get to the app.

I guess my collection of hard copy fishing license will end 2016.  Lasted longer than the S&H green stamps.

don't drop the phone in the lake, don't lose your phone, or God forbid a virus doesn't destroys all content in it just before you show it to the Man.  A paperless world is still not a 100% thing.  Print out a copy, just in case.

Or have a phone that the app works on.  Or have a good enough signal or strong enough battery to bring it up.

The way I was told, you don't need to carry the paper.  I assume you can show ID and let the man look it up for you.

I still carry a Blackberry.  It runs a protected Android OS and does not use Google Play Store for apps.  I was able to sideload the app and get it to work, but it has issues updating.  My Spring Turkey Tag did not show up until season was over and it was expired.  But the fall stuff came across ok.  In over 50% of the areas I fish and hunt, ATT deems it not necessary for a cell phone signal, so the phone stays in truck.  And so the license is not on my person.
