eyedabassman Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I have been reading alot about the Whopper Ploppers and I think I need to get on board with this topwater bait! So I went out and bought the 130 in Bone,Munkey butt,Phantom Shad,T1000.> So on the Rock and Bull Shoals am I covered with colors?
Members Joenothum Posted February 28, 2017 Members Posted February 28, 2017 Ya those are good colors, the 130 seems to pick up the bigger fish and the 90s you can really put up some numbers on. I'd pick up a couple 90s and throw those first to get your confidence in the bait up. Some guys use just a straight retrieve like a buzz bait. I tend to rip it two or three times and pause it for a second or two.
Quillback Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 To be really covered, you need two of each color, just in case you have a monster break off the one color that is the hot color for that day. magicwormman, Hunter91, Daryk Campbell Sr and 2 others 5
Champ188 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Sometimes you might throw one up in a tree so I'd actually recommend three of each color. abkeenan, dtrs5kprs, Quillback and 4 others 7
eyedabassman Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 Better yet I will just buy a case of each color and size! Champ188, Daryk Campbell Sr and vernon 3

I think there's 144 in a case so you should be good now (although that would be pretty gross). magicwormman, Ham, Quillback and 3 others 6 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Once in a wile one won't run right. Bump it to four, just to cover thngs. Still better than the redfin ratio. magicwormman, mixermarkb, vernon and 1 other 4

And if you are fishing with a buddy, and are catching fish on a "hot" color, your buddy will want to fish it too. So, bump it to 5. dtrs5kprs, vernon, magicwormman and 1 other 4
