Flysmallie Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 I know this isn't lake fishing but I spent a few + hours with the Ned on Saturday. It was on a small creek in SWMO. The water could not have been any clearer. After struggling to catch fish most of the morning I tied on a PBJ and quickly put a bunch of fish in the kayak. At one point I was able to watch a fish come and take it. I was directly over the fish and it just followed and watched it. I let it sit dead for a bit and then just barely nudged it and that fish took it. The funny thing is I never felt that fish. I just saw it take it. Set the hook and brought it to the boat. The other surprising thing (for me anyway) was that I caught just as many fish swimming it back to the boat. It was a good time and that little lure did help me out of a slump. Here's a link to that report. All the fish pictured were caught on the ned with the exception of the one with a crankbait stuck in it's face. magicwormman, Quillback, dtrs5kprs and 1 other 4
dtrs5kprs Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Swimming it is one of the things a lot of guys in the Ozarks are still missing on. Lot of folks are bound and determined to limit it to a tiny shakey head role. When they're good and shallow, swimming it on the 1/16 head, with shirt 90 degree casts, can be unbelievably good. magicwormman 1

Well this one isn't missing out anymore. At first I thought it was a fluke, but after 4 or 5 like that you know it's not. dtrs5kprs 1

Lot of times I'll swim it going through with the wind pushing me, then fish slowly into the wind going down the same bank. If you really want to swim it, stick it on a 1/32 ounce head. That does come with it's own problems though. Muddy Water 1

This is where the line blurs a little with Slider fishing, but still with the benefits of the elaztech baits. The baits with less, or no salt, will stay higher in the water column. vernon Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 And I gave up golf trolling you!! I knew I would regret it. Noo, noo, noo, noo, noo, noo! I made reference to a cinema quote - nothing more. Could have just as easily been Moby Dick - you know, a fishing movie. Trolls like you are always looking for the worst in people. And after I thought I had left this kind mistreatment in the past and moved on to new chapter in my forum life. Very sad.................... edyer Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 We've sent a lot of jigs north, especially to Michigan. I bought some:) I watched a guy doing a Ned Rig seminar at the Ultimate Fishing Show in Grand Rapids, MI lat weekend. Compared to an earlier seminar where the guy was trying to sell his tube baits. the fish could not leave the Ned alone. dtrs5kprs, magicwormman and Muddy Water 3

Cast it out leave a little slack in your line...look at the birds, squirrels or check email.....reel in fish...repeat. seems like that's when I get the most bites...when I'm not paying attention LoL Smalls21, dtrs5kprs, Quillback and 2 others 5
