I have tried several different braids and just never could warm up to any of them.  The line digging into the spool, and the sound/feel of the braid coming through the guides is what bugged me more than anything.

I'm curious about how many guys have broken rod tips from getting the braid wrapped around them and casting or setting the hook ?   I have heard of that happening more than 5-6 times and it certainly seems somewhat likely.

Mark me down for one. I also despise the inevitable backlash, and money donation to the lake.

Not for me.  You should just spool some on a reel and try it.  I think that is the only way you will find out if you like it or not.

I like it on spin rigs with a leader, use mono on my baitcasters. Its more important to use what you like, and you will never know unless you try it. Like the Suffix 2lb diameter(they say its 6lb but lots stronger) in hi viz yellow and not a fan of power pro. You need the leader with that skinny braid, probably not with a thicker diameter string.

I started fishing the yellow hi-vis (I am a line watcher so I like being able to see my line on the water) Power Pro Slick with a 6ft leader and I am a huge fan.  I typically don't like to add another fail point between me and the fish but I have yet to have one break on me.  I can cast a mile on my spinning reels with a 7ft medium action rod and have used it fishing everything from jerkbaits to soft plastics and I have no complaints so far.

Never broke a tip off, but it can be like fishing with razor wire.  Dont ever wrap it around your finger or hand and pull expecially when wet.  I have cut myself pretty badly before.

Light line is even worse.  I do notice that the line will often wrap around the tip but it is so easy to notice that it doesn't cause any problems.
