Not that I'm for killing it in order for it to be a record, but somehow I don't feel like the same fish should be eligible to be a record twice, like the California examples. As a matter of fact that's why I thought they had to "take it out of future contention" once it is a record. I can definitely understand releasing it if it turns out it was shy of the record, but to basically re-use the same fish to up a record weight seems kind of like cheapening the accomplishment. In some fashion, and again, personally I'm for a catch and release alternative, I feel like if verified as a record, it should be removed out of the pool of possible future records. But then again, there's some other things about the whole record process that doesn't make sense for me, such as including private ponds along with public waters as all part of the same record. The way I see it there should be a special distinction between someplace likely to be heavily fished, and someplace where someone can basically feed the fish to a desired size, before catching it as a record. Either way though, that record fish is a beautiful one, no doubt.

And you have these folks who are attempting to grow huge bass, feeding them giant prawns.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttt? Have they legalized recreational marijuana in Kansas? Coz I know you were not in your right mind when you made that comment. :o

Alabama and no one else.

SEC East is comical. SEC West just looks up at Saban's undercarriage. Hugely overrated. Lot of NFL stars to be, but a poor on field college football product.

Come on Dave. That's like saying any plastic will do on a Ned when everyone knows ZMan gear is the only way to go.

Since 2003, the last 14 seasons, in 9 of those seasons an SEC team has held the national title. Bama has also lost a couple of title games in those years. Granted Bama (with 4 NCs) has been the most dominant team in the country the last decade+ and SEC gets high praise because of this one team alone. But at the same time Auburn (2 NCs) has been just about as good as anyone in the country (besides Bama).  Florida (2 NCs) and LSU (1NC) also have been anything but a pushover. Day in and day out SEC teams are the best in the country and pitted against each other every Saturday. There is no other conference that can hold a candle to it as we speak.

SEC puts more college players in the NFL than all the other conferences combined. Big 10 is the most overrated conference I've ever seen. Ohio State plays one tough team a year. Even if they lose that one they still have a chance at the playoffs. I'm not saying Arkansas is good by any means but not very many teams can endure an SEC schedule unscathed. Depth is the main difference in my opinion.
