Now, THAT'S about as anal as anything I've ever seen.

Are you able to ensure that the trimmed dimensions of each is identical to the others?  Otherwise, they might stack "awkwardly" in the storage container of choice resulting in unwanted air pockets causing them to wiggle around (in a weird sort of way).

Also, the bottom strip of tape is not parallel to the strip on the top.  Could trigger some sort of OCD attack if left unchecked.

Lastly, are you positive that the color of tape you've selected won't somehow bleed onto the packed bait rendering it useless?

Just wantin' to make sure you get it right the first time!

I actually went through all of those questions, plus considerations of how to open them, will the tape degrade the bait, etc. Tried three different Plano boxes. Then just opened them up.

Just curious how everyone is storing these critters. Keitechs, the Rage Swimmers, etc. Trying to organize those clam packs drives me bats. They eat up space, slide down in dark places and get lost. 

Anyone using Plano boxes? If so, how badly do the tails deform.

Saw one suggestion about cutting them into individual clam shells. Might give that a look.

Dave, I cut the package below the name and store them in an open (no dividers) Plano box. works OK. I also started using the BPS Speed Shad - a bit cheaper, on an Owner underspin with the CPS. Always use super glue too.,

Not yet. I'm still trying to figure out the hook combos that work with the widest range of bait sizes.

That flat head works pretty well on a variety of baits. And from what I can tell, keepers are vastly overrated. A lot of those actually tear the fragile baits up, doing more damage than good.

Keitechs are a regular plastisol bait, and one jammed full of salt to boot. Same issues as with GYCB in terms of durability. All that salt takes up space where plastic would otherwise be, leading to a fragile bait.

The primary Ned baits are an entirely different material, elaztech. You can beat those with a hammer  and not hurt them.

Cut the round part of the Keitech head off so it's flat. Run it on a head that has a flat back (like a Ned head), preferably without a barbed collar, and glue that little bugger up there. Glue on the shank, and on the back of the jig. Do that, and you'll lose a tail before you tear up the whole bait.

I always buy a ton of the Speed Shads when they drop below $4 a pack during sales.  They're not as flexible as a Keitech, but IMO much more durable.  I like both, but only buy the knock offs when they're on a big sale.  That includes the Rage Tail ones.  As far as storage, I bought a boat bag that's dedicated to nothing but these guys and my ned supplies.

Royal Blue, just one boat bag? What do you do with the other colors, sizes and hooks?

I put them in plano boxes and the tails don't seem to deform much, if at all.
