Put in at Cape Fair marina around 1:30.  Holy smokes was it windy!  It was also the first day of the year that I've been able to be on the water in shorts so that was nice.  We've been fishing that pond to the east almost exclusively all winter and this was actually the first time I'd been on Table Rock in months.

We surfed the waves over to Piney and went all the way to the back of the creek.  2 reasons...I thought there might be fish trying to bed back there with the water temp at 66 degrees, and also we thought we'd save the batteries and let the wind blow us down the bank.

Between the 2 of us it was a pretty good day.  The fish were most definitely not at the back of the creek, but about the middle third.  Every single bass that we landed was on a blue herring spinnerbait with a sight flash colored keitech trailer.  We caught 16 on that one bank and only 2 were shorts.  Every fish but one yesterday was a largemouth, with the other a kentucky.  All in all I'd say the best 5 were somewhere in the 16lb range with the biggest weighing in at 5.4.  Only one pic of my buddy because I'm dumb and didn't charge the phone.

I wish I'd have gotten out earlier, but man I do love a spinnerbait bite.

Had a similar bite going in that area on Thursday and Friday, couldn't get bit on the spinnerbait Saturday. Looks like it picked up again Sunday. Nice report.

Somewhere Champ is getting all twitchy reading that.

Who knows, Champ and Donna just might take me up on my offer. Pinney is in my back yard.

Been throwing the blade for several weeks now with varied success. Donna and I also surfed the waves Sunday in the upper third of the White River. We had 18 total plus one walleye, but 15 of those were short, including the Walter. Water temps were 58-64 ... and mostly 60-61. Did catch my first Red Fin fish of the year and it was a dandy male LM, crowding 4 pounds.

Thanks for the report Royal Blue and congrats on a darn good day. You matched the winning string in the BFL derby Saturday.
