Members Brandon Cowherd Posted May 2, 2017 Author Members Posted May 2, 2017 Haha well, I am very related. Spent my entire life playing with boards and houses. Although I don't allow much scrap to lay around. I did have Meeks deliver lumber and new lags to my driveway lol. Ketchup 1

Kinda like take a left at the big rock with a point on the top, go 2 miles to the tree with a fork in it, then north to the old red barn thats now brown. I dunno man, I've gotten some pretty shaky intel from that Siri dude in the past. I had a friend that used to give directions by telling you where NOT to turn. "OK, you know where the second stop light is there by the Kmart? "Yeah". "Well, don't turn there or anything - just keep going." magicwormman 1 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." A lite and heavy weight options Lite $1 a foot heavy $1.30 i chose the heavier option and got a 4'x8' piece that only cost $44.38 with tax. very pleased with ketchups recommendation thank you ketchup. Great people at Thrifty Carpet. Have used them in the past.
Bass Enforcer Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 I like the thought of the caliber product but....as I looked at it, it specifically says it's for aluminum boats however It can be used on Fiberglass. But precautions would have to be taken. Which only include waxing. I would be interested what others "know" about it. Thanks

I don't think I would want to slide that stuff over the old carpet and boards. That just sounds like a rot issue waiting to happen. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

Thanks i understand wanting to get a good price, but the fact is the better the carpet on the bunks, the longer it will last. also, properly installing the carpet is essential to how it wears. bunk carpet needs to be glued tightly to at least the top surface of the bunk. if not, then the carpet will wear pre-maturely because it is constantly scooting. bunk carpet is like the carpet in your boat, and will not wear any better than the combination of grade and installation. i do not know what boat brand you might have, but many of the manufactures will sell you pre-cut pieces for the bunks. the best price that i found on a quality glue was at home depot. you will need one that is suitable for indoor/outdoor. this will keep the carpet tight to the wood and help the carpet last. hope this might help. bo tho1mas and Champ188 2
