Jet boat tours?

I heard from a friend that said, it blew past them WAY faster than 30mph.......and knocked the cooler off the boat seat...granted it was a aluminum boat with just a tiller 25.......Told him to vid it next time he went out...

It's been a while but I had stuff knocked around in my then 16 ft v hull Lowe on Taneycomo by boats passing and throwing wakes 25 years ago.  There is not a displacement hull made that I have ever seen that has anywhere near the maneuverability of a jet boat up on top and operated by a competent driver.  Truthfully since there is not a legal way to prevent the operation the market will decide if the business is successful or not.  The MSHP can limit it's area to operate in and require them to stay within a stretch of river for safety reasons.

nothing prohibits them to run UP lake if they so chose, if the thing has 2000 hp then they guy is being disingenuous on his intent....I am all for some one making a living...yet you can bet once the fisherman leave for quieter places to fish, you can count on the casinos rolling in, One thing I understand is demographics ( I ran my own advertising agency for years) and the direction of Branson as the Las Vegas of the midwest continues....I'd rather see the change more to natural wonders and less things like this jet boat tour...whats next fighter jet rides a tree top level? Im sure it will be a hoot

 I remember when I would fish Taney in winter back in the day even up by the dam you could only see a hand full of people and the fish ran huge... catching a 4# average limit was not unheard of...I don't like fishing in the roar of PWCs, Skiers and pontoon boats full of drunks blaring music...something is to be said for a misty evening..a mink running down the bank... the sound of the water and wildlife,.....even the night sky full of stars not obscured by light Pollution...California the birthplace of radical tree hugging environmentalists became that way because of the demand a population can put on beautiful places,

No not involved at all. I am also not promoting it either. Just accepting the fact that it is a legal operation, and no amount of false, or exaggerated gloom and doom speculation is going to stop it. As long as it stays down lake from the Landing, I have no problem with it.

I do have a few years, and river (and lake) miles of jet experience. I know how they operate, what they do, and how they do it. The previous posts from people who were actually on the lake opposed to your speculation are much more valid to how a jet boat runs. As for your friend's estimation of the speed it was traveling, the sound of it could be quite deceptive.

So far from reports from fishermen in a bass boat, and also kayaks your prediction of a devastating wake just is not proving to be correct.

Guess you haven't been around the Landing to see the "youg'ns" enjoying the kayaka, stand up boards, the new CraigCat catamarans. Then moving down the Landing for a ride on the zipline. I'm sure their next stop after the zipline will be the jetboat.

Remember those young'ns are not all 20 year old snowflakes. A good number of them are the 35-50 demographic that have, and more importantly let go of the $$$. While many your assumed elderly "spenders" squeeze their nickels so tight ole Tom Jefferson's eyes bug out.

MOCARP instead of Bashing and Complaining about all these different Post Maybe you should investigate and try things out for urself If not the Value of ur Arguements are VOID

you complain about noise on Stockton Lake, You complain about the Jet boats on Taney, you complain about How Humans mess up and Effect the Wildlife/ Scenery

You Complain about Bowfisherman/women

IS THERE ANYTHING POSITIVE THAT ACTUALLY COMES FROM YOU

If u Stay this "Trumped off"  at people/business sounds to me you either really have issues or Just need to Stay away from Areas at their Busiest Times

as well as I am 100% sure most of u that Gripe and Complain dont have the Same training or Licensing that the Jet boat Operators and Ducks Ride Operators have
