They wakeboard awhile then they go somewhere to eat/drink/party. If there is no place open to go..... then the wakeboats pretty much stay docked and dry. Unfortunately, Cape Fair is adding a very large number of bigger slips this summer. Spoke with an employee back in April who said the addition will be "huge". We have noticed a very large volume of tuna rigs going up and down the mid James. I suspect many are making a day trip from Kimberling to Cape and vice versa. The Kimberling to Campbell has to be bone breaking rough. I still think a "shoreline protection tax" should be proposed for boats over a certain length along with the wake board boats. Drivers licenses for boaters? Wonder if that could some how be implemented on-line that would include a section "don't be a jacka$$ on the water"? vernon and dtrs5kprs 2

T, same here unfortunately, I would love to come down for a week in the summer, if I did I would plan to only fish at night. Then that ruins the week with family as you can't do both, enjoy family during the day and fish at night. Years ago you could drift around and drop shot fish while swimming periodically, with all the big boats and loss of respect for others it's impossible. Late October thru May is the ticket. *T* 1

Wouldn't matter where we are on the COE's priority list. There was some facilities work done last year, but relatively minor stuff. If the $1 trillion proposed infrastructure deal goes through, sure would be nice to see some of that money directed towards COE facilities (not that I am holding my breath on that one). I would not hold my breath on a infrastructure bill.

Kimberling on Saturday was as bad as I've seen it in a while, and Monday wasn't much better. We ended up fishing until about 230 because the ladies were shopping. Running back into Schooner was nasty.

MOPanfisher Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I think when I finally retire I will avoid all topic about the COE, until then I am just going to avoid them, except for specific topics that I might have some control over. Overall policy and the how/why nope. Or at least I will try my darndest to avoid them. vernon and Terrierman 2
