johnm Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 If u keep your sonar on the left u can see the real time fish moving straight up and down better I keep map on the right side to stay over the object im targeting
Old plug Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 What I do is go to certain places that I know the bass will rise to feed in the evening. Usaully about 1/2-3/4 of a hour before total darkness. They do not feef on the surface. They do not do his all the tme. Also like other fishing it varies in how well it will turn out. It os really a chancey bussiness. When you catch it right you can put a 5 bass stringer of 15 lbs or better in very fast. What I have not done on a bluff is try to time that feeding spree. I know it would take a lot of investigating. Real rime fish moving up and down does not relate To what I am doing. the fish show a certain patern about ten feet that tell me theyare on the prowl.
fishinwrench Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 I hear guys talk about the horizontal lines on the sonar screen indicating that the fish are "moving up to feed", and I think they are full of it. Those lines are just fish coming up to look at your boat I think. Usually dink crappie, gar, or drum.
drs7558 Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 This is great stuff. There isn't another place around that you can get this type of info on bass fishing on the Rock. This site is awesome. I learn something every time I come on this forum. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hunter53, Sore Thumbs, Champ188 and 4 others 7
Champ188 Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Hey drs7558, that's what we are all about. Don't hesitate to post a report yourself. We aren't all "pros" here, just a bunch of good guys who like to fish and help each other catch more. And kick stuff around. Yeah, we do that too sometimes. But generally not each other unless it's in good humor. 😃 Sore Thumbs, magicwormman, Quillback and 1 other 4
m&m Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Ditto ++ what Champ said. Reports about success are as good as reports that reflect a tough outing. That is how we all get better. Mike Carl W, Quillback and Sore Thumbs 3
