Champ188 Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Be sure to carry ice for the livewell and some form of treatment. Rejuvenade is awesome.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 Got it all, I usually freeze a few milk jugs the night before, and I got G juice, and peroxide. My livewell keeps them pretty lively, never had one die on me. I usually run the recirc the whole day once I get one in there, I also insulated the lid to help a little bit. Never tried the Rejuvenade. I swear I put a 14 15/16 inch fish in there once with G juice and when I weighed it in he was 15 1/16 on the same measuring board. Definitely a believer in livewell treatment. I think if you have a dead fish it shouldn't count at all, a lot of tourneys only deduct 4 oz. magicwormman, Hunter53, m&m and 1 other 4
Champ188 Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 You da man, arch. Thanks for taking such good care of them. I've heard good things about that G Juice. Just haven't tried it coz I've always had great results with Rejuvenade. It is so nice to have a ton of members here who respect and care for the resource. magicwormman, gurumalone, Hunter53 and 2 others 5
Sprint21fter Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 G juice is great. I know alot guys use rejuvenate too. I run my live wells on manual, the g juice bubbles like crazy the whole time creating more oxygen. The milk jug trick also acts as shock absorber s while running on a rough lake so the fish don't get bounced as bad. Champ188 1
dblades Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I don't see how a five pound block of ice is a shock absorber, even if it does cool the water. Royal Blue 1
Sprint21fter Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 It floats and when the ice melts the jug is soft. It doesn't take very long for the ice to melt when temps are in the upper 80's to 90. It's more efficient too. You don't have to tear out a bag of ice. Once it's cooled the water you pull the jug dump the water and put another one in. Bringing it from the house also means one less thing to spend money on while fishing. crazy4fishin, Champ188, gurzik and 2 others 5
