Cant thank you boys enough for your input here. Looks like most of your prefer the Costa's. With some of you liking Solar Bats and Maui Jims. I will do some research on costs and the like. Sounds like 100 dollars might not cut it! Once again, thank you guys very much.

Just a couple of years ago I read an article on high-performance Sunglasses.

It stressed the importance of NOT using spray-on eyeglass cleaning-fluid on them due to the stuff's tendency of removing different kinds of coatings the Manufacturers place on those high-dollar lens surfaces. Don't know if that is still true but on my Maui's and Costas I will only rinse them in water, sometimes with a little soap included but only a mild soap like Ivory, and then dry them on a Terry-cloth towel.

If you buy a pair of scripts you better take care of them like gold, clean with warm water and approved cloth like skeeter says and keep them under lock and key. Thought I was going to have to take out a second mortgage on them!! Lol

Maui's come with a cleaner and cloth.  But I still do the warm water with mild soap.  Never use anything but the little cloth they gave me.

I know it sounds silly but how do you clean the little cloth? I'm going to ask the folks a Ferguson Optical the same question when I pick them up.

Being a victim of the script scam brings to light another issue, I'll need to change my behavior and treat them like my regular glasses. No more setting them down or flipping them up on my cap when I tie knots or wipe my brow. They'll need to be on my nose or in a case in a duffel bag at all times.

Why if they are so freaking delicate are you paying a premium price for them?

Are y'all listening to yourselves?  You're paying 250.00 extra for some miracle coating that will wipe right off, and the lense will easily scratch with a paper towel....gotta use some special cloth to wipe them off?  You are all crazy.

If you've got an optical department at WalMart you can get the little cloths fairly inexpensively.  They also sell a "big" little cloth, like a foot square.
