Old plug Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 I know there is not any such thing as polar bear chair anymore.. I have not found anything yet to compare with its sink rate on a little 1/32 oz crappie Jig. And do not tell me artificial. I hate the stuff. It compresses when it sinks excellerating the drop and also gets tangled around the hook to the point of preventing hook ups. I been thinking about black bear fur. I know its black but I do not think the crappie would care what color it is to be truthful. What about deer belly fur. Been looking the deer belly stuff late of late. Looks pretty fine in the package. Have not examined any outside of that.
fishinwrench Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Artic fox fur, or Icelandic sheep hair.

top_dollar Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Ive done alright with grey squirrel tail. It has a nice baitfish color to it, never as consistent success as a plastic swimmin minnow though. Fox squirrel tails are great crawfish mimics as well with bands of orange and black Couldnt tell ya how the sink rate compares to polar bear hair, that is some serious specifics.
Old plug Posted September 22, 2017 Author Posted September 22, 2017 thank you for the offer Billithead I might just take yoou up on that Top Dollar the sink rate is what its all about fishing . I do not get very excited about color. I do like to use braid for crappie because it floats. I can watch it like a cork for strikes and the slower the better for that. .
Members cmoore03 Posted September 22, 2017 Members Posted September 22, 2017 Old Plug: I have a package of Polar Bear Fur that you are welcome to. I bought it 45 years ago when hook & hackle first started their mail order business. It is still in the plastic sleve with the price written on the outside. Let me know.
