What's with the alligator thing?  I was floating a particular little creek a while back, was out in the middle of nowhere with no civilization in sight, and suddenly saw an alligator resting on a log downstream.  It looked real, but turned out to be an inflatable gator just draped very realistically atop the log at water's edge.  Weird.

This one was an old taxidermy job. Not sure where it came from but in talking to someone that is on that water often it has been there for awhile. Wasn't there end of June though.

Back in early August my daughter was tying on a fly while walking across a gravel bar, and she walked right into a dead armadillo.  She screamed like a banshee and I thought something bad had happened.  I almost broke my neck getting over to her.....

We had a good laugh.😂

Okay I know some will laugh and some will say we were baked but, in 1998 while wading on the Bourbeuse river my buddy who was ahead of me claims he saw an alligator. He was so freaked out he just turned around and walked back to the truck along the bank all scared. His crazy reaction to whatever he saw was really kinda wild coming from the particular guy. He swears to this day it was an aliigator and WILL not wade on that river.

The mind is a funny thing and we see things that we perceive wrong but, he saw something that day and WILL not go in that river anymore hahahahaha

Great pictures! Though that pic of the Fireball bottle made me feel a little nauseous

We had a couple of gators around here (Gravois and Little Gravois) for awhile.  One was an 8 footer and the other just a little smaller.  They named the big one Wally.  Some kids managed to catch the smaller one and kept it in a bathtub until the law had folks from St.Louis (zoo?) come get it,  but nobody ever caught Wally.

Supposedly they CAN survive our winter's but in cool climates they can't reproduce.   All the eggs will be females because of the low temps and they'll eventually all die out.
