Wind direction and consistency means a lot to white bass.  Let the wind blow from the same direction for 2 or 3 days then hit those banks where the wind was blowing into, fish them like you were crappie fishing in the spring with a whit e or silver jig.  If you start picking up LM pick another bank and try it, when you find them it can be hot and heavy action.  If they are not right in the bank moff off just a little, but often will hit within a couple of the edge.

I've heard that windy bank thing a million times so it must be a real thing SOMEWHERE.    Personally I've yet to see a day where wind blown areas were any better than wind sheltered areas.  Matter of fact 5 of my top most consistently productive spots just happen to be West side banks that are opposite the prevailing wind.   Now that I think about it I don't know of a single spot on an East side or a South side bank that has ever produced well for me on Whites.   All of my best areas are either along Northside or Westside banks or Northside/Westside coves.

And right inline with the age old saying,  I've never had a really good day during an Easterly wind regardless of where I'm at.

The old saying wind out of the west, fishing is the best, wind out of east, fishing is the least or something like that, as far as the wind blown point, it is somewhat a misnomer but will head one in the right direction.

On Pomme the wind thing does hold true, with whites it didn't matter.the direction just a couple day is the same direction.  North wind always seemed to turn off crappie, but I think Walleys liked it better.  On LOZ my best white bass bank faces north, and doesn't get a lot of wind either wrench.

I rather have it from south, west or north but I'll take any wind I can get on Table Rock.

Another thing about Whites that I think is worth mentioning is that they don't seem to care for overhead cover at all.   A bank lined with docks is worthless.  If you have a long bank lined tightly with docks and there's a decent sized open spot anywhere along it, that's where the Whites will be.

Ding ding ding.  My best spot at LOZ is a short expanse of open bank between docks, maybe 100 yards long.

My best spot is a 30 yard stretch of a bank in a small pocket, subject to change like anything else, but hasn't failed me yet

west and southwest banks have a shade layer staring mid-day this time of the year, and i believe that shade layer that is created has more to do with any fishing being there than the wind.

just my opinion, but it is proven fact that shade provides cover for ambush.
