True.  There's something about a noisy black buzzbait that these fish just never seem to get tired of.   

A 1/2 or 3/4 Crock-O-Gator Head Knocker in black never gets put away in my boat.  Always good for a few bonus fish and quite often they are large.

As long as that water temp is above 50 they will smack a well presented buzzbait. Some guys will still fish one into the high 40's! Along as the shad are up on the rocks, they don't care about the air temp... And the snow can really get them going!

I have some old paper pictures similar to that MOamallie.  Even little snow riffs in the back ground.  I run parallel to the bank

This was the day after I caught that first big one in my previous post. That snow was so wet and it was so cold that we didn't last long out there. But I bet the fish would've been biting had we been able to tough it out.

i am about  certain they would have. I been in that sitution twice. First was time on Wapapello.Lake Looked like snow  like snow but I still went up the lake. Stopped this tiny dent in the bank and cast my lure( no longer remember it was ) It no more hit the water and the surface just exploded. Landed   5 lb bass. By the time I got it off it was snowing so hard I Could not see the target. I made a couple bllind cast and even I decided I better get my butt back to St Louis. I could not see the bank line for the most part coming  in. Was almost running blinded back to Chonia Landing.. That Was scary enough, but the drive up 67 was hair raising. Big18 wheelescq shooting up past me would turn everything into a total white out. There was everything you can imagine run down into the meridian. By the time I got home (5-6) hours later. Iwalked through the door a kissed the floor.I never thought I would make it.

The next time was on Stockton and a sinilar storm I was on the lee wind side across from where we camped with  my friends young son in a 12 ft deep v with a 9.5 motor. We were catching nice bass back deep in a cove and never noticed the weather changing till suddenly it was like a blizzard. I ran that boat back across that lake through swells we could not see over. I sort of set the boat up on the wall of a swell and surfed our way back  Boat was taking on water as well because the wet snow was melting in the warmer hull., Very grateful for my navy service for educating me about wave actions. We could very easy have died that day.snow dumped 11" deep before the day was over.

Plug, those are some good memories.  Wappapello is my home lake, I grew up in Poplar Bluff.  We would duck hunt in the morning and then go fishing those fish down there would be shallow even with ice around the edge of the lake.  Of course in that lake they don't have much of a choice about being shallow.  We had been hunting then fishing in December and a snow storm came in we were catching the crap out of them and stayed on the water to long.  Boat ramp was covered with snow when we came in and had a hell of a time getting home.  I still remember pushing cars over the hills so we could get through. 

Thanks everyone for the info.  I all excited about getting out this weekend.  Would love for my stepson to catch a big one on a buzzbait.  He caught his personal best up there this spring 5.7 off a dock corner with a senko.

I looked back through my pics to see how I was catching them during mid-November last year and I see lots of Whites on Clousers and Sassy shads, and the green bass all had Football jigs and 1/2 oz. slow-roller spinnerbaits in their mouths.

Ya, last year the whites were all over the place, didn't do much with the green guys. Changes occur every year, all you can do is get out there and give it your best.

Oh that's just GREAT! 

Took myself yet another butt Whoopin this evening.  I've obviously lost my White bass flyfishing mojo.

Gonna have to break the gear out I guess.  Darn it!
