Found some nice Kentuckies on Saturday but couldn't find any good blacks to save my life. I get hard-headed this time of year and always try to force the topwater bite. One of these years I'll learn. Caught 10 nice crappie as well but was too lazy to clean them. Topwater and Hi-Def Craw did the damage... Very nice Paul!!!! It looks like you had a good weekend with your wife???? You Two deserved some QUALITY time. Kudos my friend 😊 bjovan, conorsixtakc and MOsmallies 3

fishinwrench Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 Left the fly gear at home and went full bore after the Whites today from 1:45 until dark. Water temp 57-59° and very clean (it isn't often that I can have the sensitivity on the sonar turned up to 85% without blacking out the screen). Shad weren't just everywhere but when you found them the schools were huge. I hit 5 good areas before finding a school of whites that would bite, caught 6 big fat ones right away, then they quit me. Sat down, drank a beer and smoked a cig then made another pass and picked up 2 more. That was it. The best bait for me was a 1/4oz. RedEye Shad rattlebait (chrome sexy). I was surprised when I cleaned them that all 8 were females with about 1/2 egg production complete, and all were pure whites. No mutts. tho1mas 1

shrapnel Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 I need to downsize and actually target them. Just picking them up on bass lures is getting a lot of missed fish. Got hit on a jerkbait yesterday 3 casts in a row, 4th cast hooked up with a 2lb white. September they were crushing 1/2oz redeyes and getting hooked, now not so much.

I haven't been out in a few weeks, but will be headed out looking for green bass this weekend. Can anyone help get me pointed in the right direction (with what to throw and locations to general locations to look for)? I'm thinking I'll have a jig and a spinnerbait. I'm pretty new to bass fishing this late in the year. I'm usually hunting or on trout. Where do I get started for this time of year? Should I expect mainlake or backs of coves or somewhere inbetween?
fishinwrench Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Got another small mess of fish from the same school this evening. Still all females. Look at all the eggs already.
