Members KLiK Posted November 26, 2017 Members Posted November 26, 2017 They also have some nice combo's, just picked me up a 6' with a 30 few months ago and have no complaints. Believe this reel maybe a step up from the previous posted. You can pick which reel and rod you want and at the store choose one piece or two piece rod. http://www.basspro.com/shop/en/pflueger-presidentbass-pro-shops-graphite-series-spinning-rod-and-reel-combo ~Klay
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Well i got bored enough and went to bass pro and looked at the presidents. Ended up with the President XT, the other wasnt on sale in the store. I had a gift card so i wasnt out to much. I got the 35 and it is pretty much identical in size to my Daiwa 3000. Loos like a good set up. Spooled it up with a whole bunch of P-line TCB 10 lb braid.
Ketchup Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 ^^^^ you got enough gear TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Enough is never enough. Ive got to the point where im to lazy to re-tie. My boat may be the most loaded down little tracker in the world. (Youve seen the way the ol girl sits in the water)

aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Since were on the spinning reel subject, I know myself and a few others have been very let down by Lews spinning gear. Anyone have the new stuff? I have a Lews Tournament gold i got for $79 half off last year. It is ok but even with 8lb braid on it i can still outcast it with one of my cheap shimanos on the same rod. It started with the lews 20lb braid....yikes that was another mistake, and now with power pro 8lb and it cast fine for what i do with it but not half as well as my other reel brands Terrierman 1
Gavin Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Had a Lews, was junk. Plungers are fine, but the presidents have a plastic frame. Will break if you step on or toss a cooler on. Only issue I've ever had with them. Liking my newer Abu's though. Will never buy a Shimano spin reel at any price point. Nice for 3 trips then junk. Can't take any abuse. grizwilson and Terrierman 1 1
Bushbeater Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Anyone know if they still have stock in the Springfield store?

MOPanfisher Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I loved my OLD Strait for many years. It however finally developed a catch in it that I can't stand. Since then I have bought maybe 6 Pfleuger Presidents expecting a 3 year reel. So far in the last 5 plus years they have taken every thing I have thrown at them and kept going strong and smooth. I do have a couple others still, a beast of a Abu (soron maybe), another Cardinal, and I think a Cardinal 104 somewhere. I also have 2 new Pfleuger Presidents somewhere between my house and bass pro, couldn't pass on that price and they won't spoil in the package until I need them. Once I find a model.I really like I keep buying them.
