If pressured to choose the best Smallmouth river in the state I'd have to say the Meramec just because of all these 20+ fish y'all keep catching.  It's a shame that I never fish it.

Doesn't all that gear fishing get boring though?   I think you should up your game and start fly-fishing for them.  

Without a doubt there is some hawgs on this river.   All I've ever tried to say is that it could be better.

I know I didn't say it , but it needs to be said , this fish was released with the utmost care and consideration for its well being    This was the first fish I've seen of this size with no battle scars or signs of age.  It was to me a younger fish. Very healthy and as pretty a smallmouth I've ever seen.
